DIVIDE ENTIRE SYLLABUS OF CHEMISTRY –XII
IN THREE SECTIONS.
Section A: Physical Chemistry-This Section Includes
Following Units. In these Units, you must focus on
Important Definitions, Formulae for
Numericals,Numericals Practice and Conceptual
Questions.

Unit 2 Solutions

Unit 3 Electrochemistry

Unit 4 Chemical Kinetics

SECTION B: Inorganic Chemistry-This Section
Includes Following Units..

Unit 8 d- & f-Block

Elements

Unit 9 Coordination
Compounds
CONTD………
Inorganic Chemistry: Inorganic Chemistry requires lots of learning work and you
cannot escape from it. NCERT is enough for the preparation of this portion.
Making Notes is a great idea !!!
If you successfully learn this section, rest assured, you will get full marks from it.
Direct questions are asked from it. Never leave them for the last moment. Give at
least half an hour to this section daily and keep revising learned topics as well to
avoid forgetting them.
In Unit 8, you must focus on
• Electronic Configuration of Transition & Inner Transition Elements.
• Trends in Physical Properties of Groups of d-Block & f-Block Elements,.
• Methods of preparation of Oxo metallic salts and their oxidising properties.
• Chemical Reactions and Properties
• Conceptual Questions and Structures of Compounds.
• In Unit 9, you must focus on
• Nomenclature & Isomerism
• Questions based on Valence Bond Theory and Ligand Field Theory.
• Properties of Coordination Compounds etc.
SECTION C: Organic Chemistry-This Section
Includes Following Units..

Unit 10 Haloalkanes and

Haloarenes

Unit 11 Alcohols, Phenols and

Ethers

Unit 12 Aldehydes, Ketones and

Carboxylic Acids

Unit 13 Amines

Biomolecules
CONTD………
Organic Chemistry is probably the easiest and
important portion of class 12 Chemistry. In
these Units, You must focus on
• Reagents used in various Reactions and their
Functions.
• Reactions used to Distinguish Between Given
Pair of Organic Compounds.
• Name Reactions, Conversions and Related
Word Problems.
CONTD………
• Reasoning for Physical Properties, Acidic and
Basic Behaviour of Compounds, Reactivity and
Directive influence of Groups.
• Mechanisms( Only which are given in NCERT)
• For Biomolecules, Briefing of Important
Concepts and Learning through the basic
knowledge of Structures of Glucose, Fructose,
Sequence of amines in Proteins,DNA, RNA
molecules etc.
CHEMISTRY QUESTION PAPER DESIGN
In the Board Examination for the year 2022-23
, there will be Five different parts of the Chemistry paper
as mentioned below.
Part A: will be the Objective Type Exam. It will consist of
MCQ as well as Assertion/ Reasoning type questions.
SECTION A consists of Eighteen multiple-choice
questions carrying 1 mark each.
Part B: will be consisting of Very Short Answer Type
Questions.
SECTION B consists of Seven very short answer
questions carrying 2 marks each.
CHEMISTRY QUESTION PAPER DESIGN CONTD….

Part C: will be consisting of Short Answer Type Questions.

SECTION C consists of Five short answer questions carrying
3 marks each.
Part D: will be consisting of Case based/ Source
based/Integrated Questions. You are required to read the
passage carefully and answer the questions that follow.
SECTION D consists of Two case-based questions carrying 4
marks each.
Part E: will be consisting of Long Answer Type Questions.
SECTION E consists of Three long answer questions carrying
5 marks each.
In Total, there would be 35 Questions in the Question paper.
HOW TO LEARN AND PRACTICE
CBSE provides sample question papers for
practice every year 2-3 months in advance. It
helps students, teachers and schools to
understand the actual Question paper pattern,
Blueprint and Marking scheme. It gives an
idea about the difficulty level of the question
paper and weightage given to each chapter. It
also provides an insight about the changes
made by CBSE in any subject in terms of
question paper design and number of the
questions being asked in the Board exam.
Here are some tips on how prepare for Best
Results.
CONTD………
Study the pattern of question paper carefully
and note down the major features.
Check the weightage given to each chapter.
Look for numerical questions and the chapters
from which these are asked.
Have an overview of difficulty level of the
questions.
Now, revise your notes and check if you missed
any important point.
If so, add it to your notes.
CONTD………
Practice CBSE Sample question paper, try
to solve it in given time.
Prefer the time 10:30 am to 1-1:30 pm as
it is the actual time the question paper
given to you in examination hall.
Now get it checked by your teacher or
check it yourself with the help of Marking
scheme given along with the question
paper.
Download more such sample papers from
CBSEwebsite and practice them regularly
CRACKING THE EXAMINATION IN
CHEMISTRY
TIPS TO REMEMBER:
• 1.Know your syllabus and Design of the
Question paper well. Must be aware of
the division of the syllabus into various
sections and their weightage clearly.
• 2.Solve the numerical by writing formula
with the unit of each physical quantity.
Write the final answer with the specific
unit.( In Marking Scheme, marks are
allotted for each step)
TIPS TO REMEMBER
• 3.In Inorganic Chemistry, spend
sufficient time on Unit 8 & Unit 9.Write
the chemical equations of the units
together in a series and do written
practice regularly.
• 4.Organic Chemistry requires daily
written practice.
TIPS TO REMEMBER
• For better understanding, prepare the units in
capsule form, mind maps, concepts with flow
Charts, Pictorial representation of chapters
wherever possible, Crossword Puzzles etc.
• Practice important structures of organic and
inorganic molecules.
• Once the Textbook is revised, attempt
questions of Textbook and try previous years
CBSE Question papers and sample papers.
Understand your strengths and weak points.
TIPS TO REMEMBER
Revise the portions where you think you need
improvement and further consolidate your
strengths. This will make a huge difference to
your final result and your confidence.
Night before the exams, relax and take adequate

your dreams and your fears to God through
prayer every day. In return you will have peace
and success in your life.
DURING THE EXAM……..
• 1.Make right use of additional fifteen
minutes to read the questions properly
and draft a plan about how to solve the
paper correctly without getting
panicked.
• 2.Try to write descriptive answers in
points and give pictorial or graphical
illustrations wherever possible. It
enhances visibility.
CONTD……
• 3.For long answer type questions,
before starting, frame a skeleton of the
answer in the margin.
• 4.Do Remember: S.I Units of all entities.
• Be crisp and to the point in very short
answers.
• 5.Make sure that words are properly
spaced out. Leave at least two lines
before and after each question. This will
enhance presentation of your written
work.
