Good morning everyone

Today I invite you to join me on a journey through the evolution of computers, from their
beginnings to their important role in our modern world. Lest´s explore the inventors and
innovations that have shaped the computers we know today.

So in the picture we can see a blue background and a set of computers, the first one is a
vintage computer with a beige monitor and keyboard. It represents the earliest days of
computing, a time when the concept of programmable digital computer was taking shape. One
of the pioneers in this field was Charles Babbage an English mathematician, and inventor. In
the 19th century, Babbage designed the “Analytical Engine”, a mechanical computing device
considered the precursor to the modern computer. Although it was never fully built during his
lifetime, Babbage ideas laid the foundation for future generation of computer scientists.

Fast forward to the mid-20th century, and we see the desktop computer with a beige tower
and keyboard. This era saw the birth of the electronic digital computer, thanks to the work of
Alan Turing. Turing, a British mathematician and logician, is widely regarded as the father of
computer science and artificial intelligence. His work paved the way for the computers and the
stored-program concept.

Moving along our timeline, we arrive at the desktop computer with black monitor and a grey
keyboard. This phase represents the rise of personal computing in the 1980s and 1990s,
spearheaded by companies like IBM and Apple. IBM introduction of the IBM PC in 1981
marked a significant milestone, bringing computing power into homes and businesses on a
large scale. Meanwhile, Apple Macintosh, introduced in 1984, popularized the graphical user
interface, making computers more user-friendly.

Finally, we have the computer with a with monitor and a keyboard, now without a mouse but
equipped with a touchpad, a creation of Larry Page and Sergey Brin. It represents our current
era of mobility and convenience, With the touch of a finger, we access a universe of
information, communicate instantaneously, and create, share, and collaborate effortlessly

These computers have become indispensable in our lives. They power our workplaces, from
basic tasks to complex analytics, boosting efficiency and creativity. In education, thet have
democratized learning, granting access to a world of knowledge through online courses and
interactive tools. Healthcare benefits from computers precision aiding in diagnoses and
treatments. Economically they have revolutionized commerce, enabling global reach for
businesses of all sizes. Socially, they connect us across continents, fostering collaboration and
understanding. In our daily lives. They amplify tasks, entertain, and inform. Computers are the
heartbeat of modern progress, shaping our world in unimaginable ways.
