Daily utilities
Organization

g. Motivation
Before we start the lesson, we will have an
activity first. In this activity you are going to
answer logical questions.

Logic #1.
When I was 4 years old my brother was half of 16
my age. Now I’m 18. How old is my brother?

Logic #2.
What is black when you buy it, red when you use Charcoal
it, and gray when you throw it away?

Logic #3.
What has teeth but cannot bite? Comb

Did you find it difficult to answer the logic? (Some students might find it challenging to
answer, while others might find it simple.)

Even though you find it hard to answer to still

give an answer to the logic.

How did you answer the question? What did you We think sir! To make decision and come up with
do to answer the question? an answer.

Very good! You use your mind to think and

decide on a solution and answer to the question.

B. Development Activities
1. Presentation
We make decisions every day. Making
decisions is something that comes naturally to us
as humans. The most important thing in life is that
it enables people to advance in their lives.
Millions of people worldwide make decisions
each day.
Today's lecture will teach you what is
Strategic Analysis and Intuitive Thinking.

2. Discussion
Strategic Analysis – refers to a system or method
that requires deliberate, abstract and effortful
thinking that breaks down a complex problem into
parts…
- It is a skill that enables you to plan and apply
reason to many challenges that you face,
always seeking the best and most effective
solution…
(Students will read and react on the explanation.)
Strategic Thinking
The rational min/ speech-based mind/ left brain.
One of the process of the rational mind is
Analytical Thinking.
- Words, thoughts, and reasoning coming from
or speech-based cognition

Example:
1. Lawyer trying to solve a case
2. Scientist finding a cure
3. Business owners developing a product.

Intuitive Thinking – this is the ability to

understand something instinctively without the
need for conscious reasoning…
- It is basically the kind of thinking that helps
you understand reality in the moment,
without logic or analysis.
(Students will read and react on the explanation.)
Intuitive Thinking
The intuitive mind/ vision-based mind/ right
brain:
One of the main processes of intuitive mind are
Synthetical thinking.
- In addition to above, Non-verbal emotions,
feelings and intuitions coming our vision-
based cognition.

Example:
1. Selecting a meal when eating out.
2. Choosing what to wear or what to bring
when it’s raining.
3. If you’ve ever got a gut feeling about
someone or something.

Let’s compare strategic analysis and intuitive

thinking to help you better understand them.

Strategic Analysis
1) Starts from an idea or concept and moves
on to what can be associated with it.
2) Brain centered
3) Hard facts, data, instructions (Students will read and react on the explanation.)
4) Needs time to finish in one or more sitting
or sessions
5) Well-planned

Intuitive Thinking
1) Focuses on the idea or concept and its
attributes
2) Heart centered
3) Hunch, instinct, gut feeling (Students will read and react on the explanation.)
4) Spontaneous, quick, finished at one time
5) Unplanned

3. Application
Now that we have discussed what is
strategic analysis and intuitive thinking, let’s have
an activity.

Direction: Using your placards you will identify

the scenarios presented if it requires Strategic
Analysis or Intuitive Thinking.

1. A doctor attending to the patients in the

emergency room.
2. A scientist finding a cure on infectious
disease. (Students will do the activity.)
3. A group of research solving climate
change.
4. A firefighter rescuing victims from a
burning building.
5. A lawyer solving a case.

4. Generalization

What is strategic analysis? It is a skill that enables you to plan and apply
reason to many challenges that you face, always
seeking the best and most effective solution
How about intuitive thinking? This is the ability to understand something
instinctively without the need for conscious
reasoning

5. Valuing
Strategic analysis and intuitive thinking are
two skills that go hand and hand. These skills are
complementary. Connection between strategic
analysis and intuitive thinking imply being able to
listen, evaluate, summarize and appreciating both
of these human traits, which leads to a broader
and deeper understanding and therefore improved
thinking.

6. Evaluation
DIRECTIONS: Differentiate the statements
below by writing IT if it is Intuitive Thinking
and SA if it Strategic Analysis.
___________1. It’s a skill that enables you to plan Answer:
and apply reason to many challenges that you SA
face. IT
___________ 2.A kind of thinking that helps you SA
understand reality in the moment, without logic or IT
analysis. IT
___________ 3. It deals with the creation and
better utilization of resources in the pursuit of
their objective and priorities.
___________ 4. Something that is known or
understood without proof of evidence.
___________ 5. Making choices and decision
according to one’s hunch and gut feeling without
knowing the reason why.

7. Assignment / Agreement
Direction: Compare and contrast a strategic
analysis from intuitive thinking using the Ven
diagram below.

STRATEGIC ANALYSIS INTUITIVE THINKING

“That would be all

for today. Goodbye
class! See you
tomorrow.
