IMPORTANT!!

Ribbit was made for the old 2018 version of Deltarune, and as such,
won't work with the Steam version. You can
still get the old version from the Deltarune site by using this link:
http://deltarune.com/download/win/en

Alternatively, if the above link doesn't work or is detected as unsafe, you can get
it from here instead:
https://archive.org/details/deltarune.com_202109
(If you're using the Archive.org link, on the righthand list, open up the "WINDOWS
EXECUTABLE" page and download
"SURVEY_PROGRAM_WINDOWS_ENGLISH.exe" to get the correct version of Deltarune
required for this mod.)

Once you have it downloaded, open the installer, and install the game to your
desired location.
Make sure you remember where you installed it.
After that's done, here's what to do:

The following mod comes in the form of an xdelta patch file which you will need to
combine with your Deltarune's
"data.win" file in order to make it playable.

1. Open up the "DeltaPatcher" application, included with the Ribbit download.

2. Under "Original File", point the program towards Deltarune's data.win file
located in your Deltarune game
folder. (If you don't have file extensions on, it might just be called "data", in
which case, select that.)

3. Under "XDelta Patch", point the program towards the "RIBBIT" xdelta file
provided in this download.

4. Click "Apply Patch". After a few seconds, your copy of Deltarune should be
succesfully frogified.

5. DON'T FORGET THE OTHER FILES! Go into the provided "Important Files" folder,
copy ALL of the folders and files
inside of it, and paste them into your Deltarune game folder (into the same place
as the "data" file). When it asks
you whether you want to replace the files, agree to it. If done right, you should
now have all of the mod's music,
text, and other miscellaneous files implemented into the game.

6. Enjoy the mod!

TROUBLESHOOTING SEGMENT:

Q: Should I backup my Deltarune save file before playing this mod?


A: There's no need! Ribbit creates its own save folder, meaning that your Deltarune
saves won't be affected whatsoever.

Q: I'm getting an error while trying to patch the game. My Deltarune game folder is
located in Program Files (x86).
A: Modifying anything within Program Files(x86) requires admin privileges. Right
click on the DeltaPatcher application and
run it as an administrator to fix the problem. Alternatively, drag your Deltarune
game folder outside of the Program Files
x86 folder.

Q: I'm getting a different error when trying to use the DeltaPatcher program!
A: Please confirm that your copy of Deltarune hasn't been modified before. You
cannot stack multiple mods into the game, it
only takes one. Also, as I said near the top, please make sure that you're patching
the 2018 version of Deltarune, not the
current one on Steam.

Q: My game crashed with the error message saying "Trying to draw non-existing
sprite"
A: Go back to step 5. It's possible that you haven't pasted the Important Files
into the correct place. To make myself more
clear, go into the Important Files folder, copy ALL of the files and folders inside
of it, and paste them into the Deltarune
game folder, into the same location where the data file is.

Q: My game crashed with an error message saying "string_length argument 1 incorrect


type (undefined) expecting a String (YYGS)"
A: See above problem.

Q: My game crashes with an error message, and it's not any of the ones listed
above!
A: That probably means I've messed something up. Please contact me on my Twitter
account (@BeholdMaxine) and provide a
screenshot of the error message, and at which point of the game did you manage to
trigger it. I'll do my best to fix it in
a future patch.

KNOWN ISSUES:

Q: While playing the game, the music glitched out and is playing in a place it's
not supposed to play in.
A: I apologize. Deltarune's audio system is really weird and has a tendency to bug
out for the most seemingly random of
reasons. I'm not sure how to fix it, although thankfully, it shouldn't happen
often, if at all. The only workaround for now is
to find the nearest save point, and reload the game.

Q: Death counter is incorrect.


A: It's most likely a result of you copying a save file using the in-game save
menu. I'm not very good at programming and
am unable to figure out how to fix it, I apologize again. The best workaround is to
not use the save copying function for
now.
