Test Steps and Process:

1. The test is divided into two parts.


2. Part One: Students will be asked personal questions, ranging from 3 to 5 questions.
3. The teacher will have a complete copy of all the questions.
4. Another copy will be cut into individual cards.
5. The cards will be given to the students.
6. The student will choose one question card, which contains four questions.
7. The student will keep the card in hand while the teacher asks the questions.
8. The students will be given a few seconds (around 25–40 seconds) to review the questions and think of
their answers.
9. The teacher will ask the student the questions while the card remains in the student’s hand.

Important Notes:

 Students should respond with one complete sentence for Wh-questions and provide a complete answer
for Yes/No questions.
o Examples:
 Yes/No Question: "Do you listen to music?" – "Yes, I do."
 Wh-Question: "What do you do on the weekend?" – "I play games on the weekend."
 You may explain the question if the student seems confused or unsure.

Speaking Rubric for Basic Level English (Total Score: 10)

Criteria Description Score

Pronunciation Pronounces basic sounds and words with reasonable 2


accuracy.

Grammar and Accuracy Use basic grammar structures and vocabulary 2


accurately, with occasional errors.

Fluency and Coherence Speaks with some hesitations and pauses, but 2
generally maintains a smooth flow of speech. Ideas
are somewhat organized and connected. Provide a
complete sentence and complete respond.

Vocabulary Use a limited range of basic vocabulary words to 2


express simple ideas. She can use a limited range of
vocabulary about personal information and general
information.

Comprehension Understands simple questions and instructions and 2


can respond with basic information. She can answer
yes/ no questions and wh-questions

Score Levels:

 10: Student demonstrates consistent strengths across all criteria.


 9-8: Student demonstrates some strengths in most criteria, but with some occasional weaknesses.
 7-6: Student demonstrates limited strengths in some criteria, with consistent weaknesses in
others.
 5-4: Student demonstrates few strengths and consistent weaknesses across most criteria.
 3-0: Student demonstrates week level across the criteria
