Mathematics in the Modern World

Activities/Assessments
Individual Activity
1. Make a short essay about the video answering the following
questions:
a. What new ideas about Mathematics did you learn?
- This math video totally blew my mind! I used to think of math as this rigid, boring subject,
all about formulas and equations. But this video showed me that math is actually super
cool and creative! It's all about patterns, connections, and how it shapes the world
around us.

One of the coolest things I learned was about the Fibonacci sequence. It's this pattern
where each number is the sum of the two before it, like 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, and so on.
What's crazy is that this sequence appears everywhere in nature, from the spiral of a
seashell to the arrangement of leaves on a stem. It's like this hidden code that's running
through the universe!

The video also showed me how math is used in so many different fields. It's not just
about solving problems; it's about creating, exploring, and understanding the world
around us.

Overall, this video really opened my eyes to the beauty and power of math. I'm no
longer afraid of it; I'm actually excited to learn more! Who knows what other amazing
things I'll discover in the world of math?

b. What is it about Mathematics that might have changed

your thoughts about it?
- This math video totally changed my perspective on math! I used to think of it as this dry,
boring subject, all about formulas and equations that I'd never use in real life. But this
video showed me that math is actually super cool and creative! It's all about patterns,
connections, and how it shapes the world around us.

What really blew my mind was seeing how math is used in so many different fields. The
video showed how math is used in art, music, architecture, and even in understanding
the universe. It's not just about solving problems; it's about creating, exploring, and
understanding the world around us.

The video also showed me how math can be beautiful. It's not just about numbers and
equations; it's about patterns and relationships that can be found in nature and in art.
Overall, this video made me realize that math is more than just a subject I have to learn
in school. It's a powerful tool that can help us understand the world around us and create
amazing things. I'm no longer afraid of math; I'm actually excited to learn more!

c. What is most useful about Mathematics for humankind?

- This math video really opened my eyes to the amazing power of math! I used to think of
it as just a bunch of numbers and equations that I'd never use in real life. But this video
showed me how math is actually a super powerful tool that helps us understand and
shape the world around us.

The most useful thing about math for humankind, I think, is its ability to solve problems
and make predictions. It helps us build bridges, design airplanes, and even predict the
weather. Math is like a superpower that allows us to understand and control our world.

The video showed how math is used in so many different fields, from engineering and
medicine to art and music. It's a universal language that helps us communicate and
connect with each other, no matter where we are in the world.

Overall, this video made me realize that math is more than just a subject I have to learn
in school. It's a powerful tool that can help us understand the world around us and create
amazing things. I'm no longer afraid of math; I'm actually excited to learn more!
