number of used/full segments and empty ones in the barcode are entered The
sign comes up in red , if there empty segments ( the number after Empty > 0
) or in case of overflow ( the number after Empty < 0 ). When the symbols
entered are within the barcode requirements, the sign comes up in blue – this
is considered to be a confirmation of a correct barcode, which could be
printed.

2000 byte. In case of only one image , bigger than 6000 byte but smaller than
2
11000, the image is accepted to be introduced in the 0 position. The rest of
the position would be re covered. In a similar way an image bigger than 3000
byte but smaller than 5000 could be placed in position 1.
1.7.File/Save label, File/Save label as – saving of the format
1.8.File/Close label – closure of the format

2. Communications
Before starting communications with the scale please, make sure it’s in the required mode
CASH47 (refer to file: EVL Setup.PDF)
2.1.Send / to Scale EVL – sending the format to the scale
o Select printer – selection of the type of printer to be used
o Send , E-form, E-exe, Image , Number - Select what kind of information you
are going to send and to which position in the scale memory ( 0..7 for formats
and 0..2 for images) this information should be stored. Each label format
consists of two parts: “format” and “exe”, which are generated by the program
automatically. It’s the operator who should take care of entering the data
correctly. The image memory is shared and could be addressed by all labels. (
0..7 ).
o Load –the indicated number is loaded and saved on the hard disk ,under the
names of e_formX.tsp, e_exeX.tse, imageX.bmp – where X indicates the
number of the label /image/.
o Set Com Port – adjustment of the serial port to connect with the scales
o Send to Scale No: – select the logic code of the scale you are communicating
with , ( if it’s 0 – the scale interprets the command unconditionally)
o Cut position (only Star TSP 400) – enter a number indicating the position
from the label dimensions to be cut ( -5.0 до +5.0 мм ). The number is given
in figures1/10 мм, which means the number can range –50 ~ +50.

New Option Added to the Electronic Scale .

The mode “ summary of the accumulated units “ is introduced in the scale. It’s accessible
only if the scale is compatible with a label printer. The goal is to have a group label – label for
the package box that stores the units. This label bears the information on the total weight, value
and number of the units, for which the label has been printed.
Registers for summing up the following items are organized:
• Total weight (кг) of the units (6 positions xxx.yyy)
• Total value in leva of the units (6 positions)
• Number of units (0..999).

The accumulation in these registers takes place when the label is being printed.
No overflow control is automatically executed!!!!!

To display the register/counter content press 'CH'. The mode “ view accumulation” is started. .
When in this mode the follow keys are appropriate:
'MC' – double press the key to clear the register content .
'PRN' – to print a group label
These are the similarities between the group label and the unit label : one and the same format is
used as well as one and the same label (number 0..7).
The differences are:
3
• Instead of a unit weight, a group weight is printed.
• Instead of a unit value, a group value/ sum of all unit values/ is printed.
When a group label is printed, the number of units can be added as well as an additional text
line , for example “ Total number of vacuumed units 125” . This text line is changed into spaces
when a unit label is printed !!!! When editing or designing the label this text line should be
entered in both the format and the EXE part. If not, a printing mistake will be reported when
printing. If no text information is entered then the scale generates a regular label / as if for a
unit/ , but with weight and value number extracted from the summing registers.
After a group label has been printed the registered should be cleared manually by pressing MC
key. The same operation is required when changing the kind of article to be split into units no
matter if a group label has been printed.
