A. Preparatory Activities

1. Prayer

Good day, everyone! Before we start our

meeting, let us pray first.

O God, who by the light of the Holy O God, who by the light of the Holy
Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the
faithful, grant us in the same Spirit to be faithful, grant us in the same Spirit to
truly wise and ever to rejoice in His be truly wise and ever to rejoice in His
consolation. Through Christ our Lord. consolation. Through Christ our Lord.

2. Greetings

Good morning, everyone! How are you Good morning! We are fine.
today?

Great to hear that you are all fine today.

3. Classroom Management

Please sit properly and fix the arrangement of

your chairs because we are about to learn
something interesting today.

4. Checking of the attendance

Are there any absentees today?

None, no one is absent today.

Great, I am glad that no one is absent today.

5. Motivation

Today, we will have an action game called

charades. Are you familiar with charades?

I will do an action, and you must tell me what

I am doing.
You are jumping.
(The teacher is jumping)
What am I doing? You are stretching.

(The teacher is stretching)

What am I doing?
You are walking
(The teacher is walking)
What am I doing?
You are writing.
(The teacher is writing)
What am I doing?
We call it verb.
Alright. What do we call again for words that
describe an action?

Very good! It is called verb. Actions are

happening now, some have happened before,
and some could happen in the future.

B. Developmental Activities

1. Activity

“I am teaching.”
“I teach.”
“I taught.”
“I will teach.”

I have here a list of sentences. Could you tell

me the difference among these sentences?

As you noticed, they are all sentences that

tells us what I do, did, or will do. They differ
in terms of tenses. Verb tenses tell us when
does the action occur.

2. Analysis

Present Tense are used for actions happening

now or regularly.
I am teaching.
I teach.

Past Tense are used for actions that happened

before.
I taught last week.
He played soccer yesterday

Future Tense are used for actions that will

happen later
I will teach next week.
They will visit the zoo tomorrow.

The teacher will present a verb tense chart for

regular and irregular verbs

Regular verbs follow the standard grammar

rules of modern English in adding “-ed” or “-
d” to form the past tense and past participle
forms.

Irregular verbs, however, use completely

original words for their different verb forms
when they’re the main verb of a sentence.

Now, let us form a sentence and the verbs we (The students give a subject)
will use are from the chart.
Let us first have a subject. Who wants to give
me a subject?
Thank you.

Now let us pick a verb in the chart. Who (The students pick a verb)
wants to pick?
Thank you.

Let us now form the sentence.

Subject + Verb + Object

Example: The boy washes the dishes.

This sentence implies that the action is

happening in the present.

Example: The boy washed the dishes.

This sentence implies that the action

happened in the past.

Example: The boy will wash the dishes.

This sentence implies that the action will

happen in the future.

3. Abstraction
Did you understand the lesson? Yes!

What verb tense implies to the action that Past tense.

happened in the past?

What verb tense implies to the action that

Future tense.
will happen in the future?

What verb tense implies to the action that is

happening now or in the present? Present tense.

Very good! Now, let us have an activity. Let

us split the class into five groups. Each group
is given a set of sentence strips with actions
described in different tenses (ex. "He will
swim," "She danced," "They are reading").
The task is to sort the strips into three
categories: past, present, and future and put it
on the table. Each group must share their
sorted sentences with the class.
The students are presenting their work.
Now, let us
