LABORATORY ACTIVITY NO. 2

Cell Organelle Bingo

Name : ____,_______________________________
Group No. : ___________________________________
Year & Section : ___________________________________
Date Performed: ___________________________________ Score
Date Submitted : ___________________________________

Objectives:
1. To identify and describe the structure and function of major and
subcellular organelles.
2. To reinforce knowledge of organelles through an engaging, interactive
game.

Materials
-Bingo cards with organelle names and functions
- Markers or chips for marking bingo cards
- Reference sheets with information on each organelle (structure and
function)

Preparation:
1. Create Bingo Cards: Design bingo cards with a grid (e.g., 5x5) where each square
contains the name of an organelle (e.g., nucleus, mitochondria, ribosomes). Make sure
there are different cards with a mix of organelles in each grid.
2. Create Clues:Write clues or descriptions about each organelle’s structure and
function. For example, “This organelle is known as the powerhouse of the cell and
generates ATP.”

Procedure:

1. Introduction (10 minutes):

- Start with a brief overview of cell organelles, their structures, and their functions.
Use visual aids if available.
- Explain the rules of Cell Organelle Bingo. Each student will have a bingo card and
need to mark off the organelles based on the clues given.

2. Playing Bingo (20-30 minutes):

- Distribute the bingo cards and markers to each student.
- Read out clues one by one. For each clue, students need to identify the organelle
being described and mark it on their bingo card if it is present.
- Continue until a student gets a line marked off horizontally, vertically, or
diagonally, and shout “Bingo!” The first student to call out Bingo wins a small prize
(optional).
