Solitude

One Hundred Years od Solitude was written by Gabriel García
Márquez’s is a masterpiece that influenced modern literature. It
as a classic novel with a touch of magic realism, a literary style or
genre that blends magical elements into realistic settings. It also
reflect the difficulties of Latin American identity, history , and
culture. The story revolves around the Buendia family in the town
of Macondo. It follows several family generations with all their
struggles, triumphs, and with a blend of magical events in their
everyday life. The books is I think a mix of fantasy and reality that
highlights love, war, politics, and destiny.
The author, also uses magic realism to illustrate how
history not a merely linear progression but rather than cyclical
pattern that shape individual identities. It is further emphasized in
the end part of the story where it shows that the family’s fate is
inescapable. The theme of the novel plays an important role in
the story as it adds fantasy elements such as the characters able
to swim into space, fly in the air, by moving static objects with the
use of imagination. The narrative style, on the other hand
represents the combination of myth, history, and reality with the
lives of Buendia family.
