SCHEDULLING

Scheduling is used to find the basic start date and basic end date of
the Production order.
Scheduling is performed when Mrp run takes place and it find the
Procurement date of a material Procured externally and Production
date of an in-house material.
When material is procured externally it calculate the Purchasing
time, vendor lead time and goods receipt processing time.
When material is made in-house there are two scheduling methods.
First is basic scheduling and second is lead time scheduling.
BASIC SCHEDULLING -BASIC scheduling is done only for Planned
Orders. BASIC scheduling only Calculate the Inhouse Production Date
for inhouse material and Planned delivery time for externally
Procured Materials.
Inhouse production date can be dependent to lot size and also can be
Independent to lot size.
For lot size dependent to lot size, we maintain in work scheduling
view

Like here we can maintain Processing time 1 day is required to make

100 quantities.
LEAD TIME SCHEDULLING -- Lead time scheduling comes into role
when we convert planned order to Production Order.
In lead time scheduling When a planned order is converted to
Production order it calculate the Inhouse production Time as well as
it add few more data like operation time, machine setup time and
float after production and float before Production. Floats are
maintained in Schedule Margin Key.
For operation time it takes our WorkCentre in consideration like it
make 100 items in 1 day, so 1000 items will be made in 10 days.

BACKWARD SCHEDULING:

Backward scheduling calculates GR processing Time, Inhouse

Production time and scheduling Margin key.
FORWARD SCHEDULLING: -

FORWARD SCHEDULLING CALCULATES INHOUSE PROCUTION TIME

AND GOODS RECIPT TIME AND GIVES ORDER START DATE AND
AVAILABILITY DATE.

WHEN WE USE FORWARD AND BACKWARD SCHEDULLING?

GENRALLY MRP USES BACKWARD SCHEDULLING BUT WHEN THE
REQUIREMENT IS IN THE BACKDATE LIKE TODAY IS 09/04/2024 AND
REQUIREMENT WAS ON 08/04/2024 THEN WHEN WE INPUT OUR
REQUIREMENT AND RUN MRP THEN SYSTEM WILL CALCULATE
FORWARD SCHEDULLING.
WHAT IS SCHEDULING MARGIN KEY?
Scheduling margin key is maintained in mrp2 view of Material
Master.
Scheduling margin key has 4 Terms:
1) Opening Period.
2) Float before Production.
3) Float after production.
4) Release Period.
PATH TO CREATE OWN SCHEDULE MARGIN KEY:-
SPRO>IMG>PRODUCTION>SHOP FLOOR PRODUCTION>PLANT
PARAMETER>CARRY OUT OVERALL PLANT
PARAMETERS>MAINTAIN>FLOATS>
