PERFORMANCE
TEST

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTION FOR THE

CANDIDATE
QUALIFICATION Electrical Installation and Maintenance
NC II
Title of PBAs : “How to Use the hydraulic pipe bender”
Unit of Perform roughing-in activities, wiring
Competency and cabling works for single phase
Covered distribution, power, lighting and
auxiliary systems”
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
Given the necessary tools, materials and equipment, you are required to
assemble computer hardware in accordance with the accepted
institutional/industry standard. (Allotted time: 1hour)
1. Prepare the workplace.
2. Gather tools, materials and equipment needed.
3. Perform anti-static discharge.
4. Assemble computer hardware.
5. Connect the computer peripherals.
6. Power on the computer.
7. Observe safety precautions while working.
8. Apply 5S before, during, and after performing the task.

Steps/Procedure:
1.Connect your hydraulic pipe bender to your hydraulic pump. This is done
by taking the end of the hose and pulling back the speed ring on
the brass fastener's end.
2.Hold the ring back,
3.Slide the fastener over the hydraulic pipe bender's nozzle and let the
speed ring slide back in place.
4.Pull carefully the hose to find out that it is locked in place.
5.Set the pin on the tube bender for the pipe that you need to bend as per
its size. This will hold the pipe in place. It also gives a pivot point
for the tube as it is being bent.
6.Use a measuring tape to measure the length of the pipe where you need
the bend to be.
7.Slide the pipe on the hydraulic pipe bender. Using locking arm, lock the
pipe into position so that the pipe does not slide while the bending
is done.
School heading

8.Switch on the hydraulic pump and then activate the hydraulic tube
bender. Keep your hands away while the bender is operating.
9.Close the bender when the bend process is completed. Now you can
unlock the locking mechanism.
10. The above steps need to be repeated for each bend and when you
have completed the work, shut off the hydraulic pump and the bender. The
hydraulic hose is then carefully disconnected from the bender. This is done
by pulling back on the speed ring and pulling bender's hose. Remember that
the hose is now under pressure, so you have to be very careful when
removing it from the bender.
