ACT I
Narrator: Two students, Mae & Andrea, are well known rivals. They cannot stand
each other’s presence in and out of school. Every time there’s a Recitation, they
always aimed to the top. From exams, test, performance and quizzes, they always
keep their ego in. A bitter and dark aura always surrounds them every time they
come across each other.
Zaynnah (T1): Since our topic is about Charles Law, can anyone tell me the formula of
Charles Law?
(Both students raised their hands)
Zaynnah (T1): Yes Mae?
Mae: it’s V1 over T1 equals to T2 over V2 ma’am
Zaynnah (T1): that’s correct Miss Reyes, you may take your seat
Mae: (she grins and looked over to Andrea) Ma’am, Charles Law is also an experimental gas
law that describes how gases tend to expand when heated.
Zaynnah (T1) 1: that’s also correct Miss Reyes! Thank you for saying that
(After the teacher said that, Mae smiles proudly. Happy that she was able to answer the
question first leaving Andrea not being able to respond.)
Zaynnah (T1): okay class, just like Mae said, Charles’ law is a experimental—
Marian (T2): (interrupts teacher 1) Uhm, excuse me, miss Calderon come here for a minute

(Signals teacher 1 to come over)

Zaynnah (T1): Yes, what is it?

Marian (T2): This is John, a transferee. He’s assigned to your section.
Zaynnah (T1): Oh yes! The new student. Come inside.
(John enters the classroom)
Marian (T2): I’ll go now ha, I have a class to go to, Thanks.
Zaynnah (T2): Okay, thank you.
(Marian (T2) exist the classroom)
Zaynnah (T1): Okay class, this is your new classmate. John, please introduce yourself.
John: (John smiles) Good morning everyone. I’m John Zenarosa, 16 years old. My hobbies
are listening to music and playing online games. It’s nice to meet you.
Narrator: The once silent class suddenly bloomed with whispers, shocked to see the new
transfer student.
Shiela: oh. My. God! he’s so handsome!
Sofia.: (saying Lovingly) think my heart suddenly falls. Falls in love with him!
(A group of friends says “yieee”)
Trisha: Hey, he’s mine!
Ruby D.: In your dreams.
(They all laugh)
Zaynnah (T1): Hey, girls at the back, why are you so loud?
Student 1, 2, 3, 4: Sorry, ma’am.

Zaynnah (T1): John, you can sit there, beside Mr. Jonathan
(John goes and sits beside Jonathan)
Jonathan : Hi!
John: (Smiles a little bit and waves at him shyly)
Jonathan: (bumped John’s shoulder) don’t smile, the girl’s are looking at you, I think they
have a crush on you
Girls: (looks away while giggling)
Shiela (S1): did he just look at us? Like what!
Sofia (S2): oh honey, you’re clearly blind. HE looked at me!
Girls: (Laughing and teasing each other)
Zaynnah (T1): (checks the clock) Oh my, I didn’t realized the time. Everyone behave until
your next teacher comes in okay?
Students: yes ma’am.
Narrator: The classroom remains silent, but after Teacher 1 left the classroom, it suddenly
became loud again.
Friend 1&2: (goes over to Mae)
Angel (RF1): have you seen that man? Everyone’s panty gets in to a twist after seeing him
(The three of them all laughed)
Mae: (smiles a little) the transferee is interesting
Angel (RF1): Yes, I agree
Ruby R. (RF2): Wait, is he you’re next target?
Mae: who knows?
Narrator: the classroom was filled with chattering and laughter. Some students are playing
with their phones while some students are sleeping. It was a normal day for everyone
except from Mae. She looked at the new transfer with a hint a of curiosity. Normally, she
wouldn’t be like this, she isn’t a woman who would be easily be I love with some new face.
Narrator: Mae glanced at John, how his hair was suited him perfectly, how neat he put his
things away, and how he smiles at his seatmate while talking. At that moment, Mae know
that she had fallen in love.

ACT II

Narrator: John took out his phone to play music while waiting for their next teacher. He
yawned and lies his head on the table
Narrator: His peace was suddenly interrupted when their subject teacher walks in
Marian (T2): Class! Go to your seatmates! your seatmates will be your partner for this
activity today.
Shiela: ma’am partner Po?
Marian (T2): (the teacher looks at Shiela dead in the eyes) No to your mother, Shiela.
Shiela: (taken a back at what she said) luh
Marian(T2): to your seatmate, Marian!
Shiela: oh! My bad! (Walks away towards (Sofia)
John: (he took his notebook and pen out and notice Jonathan writhing in pain)
John: Hey, Are you okay?
Jonathan: No, I think I have a stomach ache (grunting in pain and slams the table), I can’t
take it anymore. Ma’am (he raised his hand)
Marian (T2): Yes Jonathan, what’s your problem
Jonathan: Ma’am, I have a stomach ache and I can’t take it anymore
Marian (T2): Oh, is that so, you may now go home, straight to your home not somewhere
okay, I will just excuse you to your next subject
Jonathan: thank you ma’am!
John: (he walks towards their teacher to ask her a question regarding his partner)
John: uh, Miss Garcia? May I ask you something?
Marian (T2): (she stopped was she was doing and looked at him) yes John? Do you need
something?
John: Is it allowed to only work by yourself? My partner isn’t here
Marian (T2): No sweetie, you got to work with a partner to finish that activity, who is your
partner?
John: (he awkwardly stares at the floor) Uhm.. ma’am I don’t really know anyone in here.
Can I work alone?
Marian (T2): no John, you got to work with someone.
(Looks at everyone in the classroom and pointed at someone)
Marian (T2): that girl right there! Go work with Miss Perater. Haaa! That kid is very
stubborn! I’m sure she doesn’t have a partner yet because she thinks “she is too good to be
partnered with someone”!

John: (he looked at where she was pointing) Which one ma’am? Is the one wearing glasses
or the one wearing a ribbon?
Marian (T2): the one wearing a glasses, you guys can partner up for this activity, I’ll talk to
Jonathan later and tell him that I will choose his partner so they can work together
John: (he looked at the girl wearing glasses at the back and deeply sighs. He walk towards
her and taps her shoulders to get her attention)
John: Excuse me, are you Perater?
(Andrea paused what she was doing and looks at him tiredly, not amused by his
interruption)
Andrea: yes, what do you want?
John: (he tries to smile at her while fidgeting, trying to ease up the mood) Our teacher told
me to partner up with you since Jonathan isn’t in here, is that okay with y—
NARRATOR: John was interrupted with a loud bang coming from the back. There she was,
Mae, who was red as a cherry glaring directly at Andrea. Mae was staring at her with a
despite and annoyance. John didn’t really pay much attention to the loud noise on the back,
he was too focused on looking at the sketch she was drawing on her paper
John: wasn’t she supposed to be doing the activity by now?
Narrator: Everyone continued what they were doing before, thinking that Mae just
accidentally drops her book accidentally since she is known as the clumsy one in their
classroom, often doing something in accident. But on the front row, Andrea was grinning
ear to ear, knowing what’s up and why Mae was acting like that. She mischievously smiled
sweetly to John and talked
Andrea: of course! We can be partners instead, my friends partnered up with each other
and I’m left alone doing it by my self.
John: but the teacher told me that you—
Andrea: (she irked at what he was going to say and suddenly interrupted him by grabbing
the chair next to her) here, you can sit here, so what should we start first?
NARRATOR: Some students did their activities while some asked their teacher on some
topics. The burning glare from the girl the ribbon was still in there. She hated the fact that
John didn’t asked her to be his partner, She hated that it got to be Andrea. What Mae didn’t
know was Andrea was already liking the fact that she made her mad, she was amused at her
reaction and felt quiet satisfied to herself.

ACT III
Narrator: Little raindrops hits the ground as the wind slowly blows through the air, it was
annoying for everyone but not for her. She enjoy watching the small plants dance either

because of the wind or rain it was a pleasing sight to see. She likes how the cold air hit her
skin every time she go outside and plays in the rain.
Narrator: the problem was, Andrea needs to go to the canteen but she can’t due to the
heavy rain
Andrea: I forgot to bring my umbrella, should I just run? But I’m hungry
Andrea: (sighs tiredly and sits besides the window ) Its still calming tho
Narrator: John walked inside the classroom after filling up some papers for the volleyball
club. He smiled after seeing Andrea sitting alone while looking outside
John: Uh, excuse me? Andrea right?
Andrea: (looks up to the person who called her) yes? What do you want?
John: Not being a nosy one but, why are you alone?
Andrea: My friends was called to the cookery club since the canteen needs their assistance
John: (sits besides her) oh.. but it’s already recess time, aren’t you going to buy your own
snack?
Andrea: I can’t, I don’t have an umbrella and it’s raining heavily outside.
John: oh! I have an extra food here, you can take it.
Andrea: (baffled at what he had said) excuse me?? Why?
John: well, take it for helping me to do the activity. Math isn’t really my thing
Andrea: (she looks at him and sigh) I guess I’ll take your offer, I’m kind of hungry right now
John: (smiles) that’s good to hear.
John: (takes out his food and bites it) you know, we
Andrea: We are here
John: (Looks at Andrea’s house) your house looks nice
Andrea: (smiles at him) thanks, I’ll go inside now, take care
John: ( nods) I will, bye.
Narrator: John walks away while Andrea went inside of their house. Andrea recalls his
lavishing smell, how he holds the umbrella towards her so she won’t get wet and how kind
he was even after she was rude to him
Andrea: (smiles lovingly) maybe he wasn’t that bad

ACT IV – V

Narrator: The next day, the air crackled with anticipation. Mae and her friends stood by the
classroom door, their eyes glued to the hallway.
(Mae’s Friends)
Angel: He’s coming! He’s coming!
Mae: Do I look okay?
Ruby R.: Yes, you look amazing!
(They fix Mae’s hair and uniform, trying to make her look perfect.)
Angel: He’s here!
Mae: Hi John! (She flashes a bright smile.)
John: (He walks into the classroom without even glancing at Mae, his eyes glued to his
phone.)
Narrator: Their efforts were wasted. John didn’t even acknowledge Mae’s presence. He
simply went to his seat and pulled out his phone.
Ruby r.: How dare he! He didn’t even look at you!
Mae: Do I look ugly? (Her voice trembled with sadness.)
Angel: No, you look beautiful!
Ruby R.: Maybe he didn’t notice you.
Angel: Let’s just sit down. The teacher will be here soon.
(They all take their seats.)
Narrator: A few minutes later, Andrea entered the classroom. John’s face lit up with a smile
as he greeted her. Mae saw it, a knot of jealousy can see in her face.
Andrea: (She enters the room.)
John: (Smiling warmly) Good morning, Andrea.
Andrea: (Smiling back) Good morning.
(Andrea goes to her seat.)
Narrator: Mae felt jealous. She couldn’t believe how close Jeonghan and Andrea seemed to
be.
Mae: (Whispering to herself) Why are they so close? Did I already lose? No, I won’t give up.
Just wait and see, Andrea. (She smirks, a hint of determination in her eyes.)
Narrator: A few minutes later, their teacher arrived.
Zaynnah (T1): Good morning, class.
Students: Good morning, ma’am.
Zaynnah (T1): Today, we’re going to discuss our lesson for today.

Narrator: Throughout the discussion, Mae was eager to answer every question.
Zaynnah (T1): What is the classification of rocks?
Mae: (Raising her hand) Igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks.
Zaynnah (T1): Correct. What are igneous rocks?
Andrea: (Raising her hand) Igneous rocks are formed from volcanic materials.
Zaynnah (T1): That’s correct. Can one of you give me an example of igneous rocks?
Mae: (Raising her hand) Obsidian, basalt, and granite.
Zaynnah (T1): That’s correct.
Narrator: The two girls continued to compete with each other.
Zaynnah (T1): Okay, class, that’s the end of our discussion. Wait for your next teacher.
Narrator: As soon as the teacher left, the classroom became noisy. Some students were
sleeping, others were glued to their phones, and a few were engaging in a playful pick-up
line.
(Kyle and his friends approach a group of girls.)
Kyle: Hey, Margareth, are you a thief?
Margareth: No, why?
Kyle: Because you stole my heart.
(Kyle’s friends cheer, while Margareth’s friends tease her playfully.)
Margareth: Hey, Kyle, are you an ice?
Kyle: Why?
Margareth: Because I want to hit you to the wall
Narrator: Their playful exchange continues, and the classroom buzzes with laughter. When
suddenly Mae started to throw a pick-up line to Andrea
Mae: Hey, Andrea, are you a leech?
Andrea: Why?
Mae: Because you love to stick with someone.
Andrea: Hey, Mae, are you Jollibee?
Mae: Why?
Andrea: Because you love to show off.
Narrator: The classroom erupted in cheers. The students were captivated by the playful
battle between the two girls. The air crackled with excitement as the competition between
Mae and Andrea heated up. Who would win John’s heart? Only time would tell. Then
suddenly John started to talk.

John: Can the both of you shut up, I will just make things clear, I’m not interested to the
both of you because I already like someone and it’s Jonathan
Mae: wait, what! So you’re not straight, gosh!
Andrea: oh wow what a twist
John: (looks at Andrea) and you! Didn’t you like Mae? I saw what you were doing every
time you draw! You always draw her!
Andrea: WAIT!
Mae: (looks at Andrea with confusion painted to her face) you what…..?
Andrea: Wait, Mae let me explain—
Narrator: Mae walked out of the door in embarrassment and anger, The once noisy
environment became quiet, still can’t believe what happened, throughout the whole day
they were like that until the class has ended.

ACT VI
Narrator: Andrea run towards Mae, trying to catch up with her
Andrea: wait Mae! Can you please let me explain?!
Mae: (halts) and why would you explain? You.. you guys played with my feelings!
Andrea: (holds her arms) I didn’t hurt your feelings Mae
Mae: Oh? We’re invalidating feelings now? I know you’ve always hated me since I’m like
you! You hate a competition for being a top student right?
Andrea: Shut up! It’s not like that! Well, I,
Mae: Well you what Andrea?!
Andrea: Well I liked you ever since! But i was too coward to confess…
Narrator: The wind suddenly walk past them, the air was tense and the two of them stared
at each other
Mae: Well…. I really don’t know what to say
Andrea: (she sighs and let’s go of mae’s arm) it’s fine, I guess I suddenly got shocked by the
events today. From now on let’s just ignore each other
Mae: (tries to reach out to Andrea) Wait!
Andrea: What Mae? If you’re going to tell me how to get lost then I’m leaving.
Mae: (hesitated) I.. actually don’t hate you, I actually liked you ever since I transfer in this
school but yet, I didn’t think you would even like me because you hated me.

Andrea: (says in a monotone voice) wow shocking then, I thought you were the one who
hated me. But even tho you hated me I still love the attention you give.
Narrator: The two looked at each other’s eyes. They both laughed at their sudden
confession and decided to sat down at the empty classroom.
Andrea: I guess we’re smart at our academics, but failed to do a romance..
Mae: This is the most cliché thing that happened to me
Andrea: (giggle) are we peace tho?
Mae: (nudges her playfully) more than peace, your my favorite enemy.
Andrea: I guess I’ll be yours.
