Episode 19
Traditional teaching methods often fail to capture students' interest, especially in a technology-driven
world. Many students become bored and disengaged, resulting in decreased participation and reduced
learning outcomes.
This research aims to address this problem by integrating educational apps into classroom instruction to
create an interactive and dynamic learning environment. Educational apps, such as Kahoot, Quizizz, and
Padlet, offer opportunities for gamified learning, real-time feedback, and collaborative tasks, which can
improve student engagement and lesson flow.
3. How do students and teachers perceive the use of educational apps in the classroom?
The proposed intervention is the integration of educational apps into classroom teaching. These apps
will be used to:
Conduct real-time quizzes and polls for immediate feedback (e.g., Kahoot).
Create interactive and gamified activities to make learning fun (e.g., Quizizz).
This strategy aims to transform passive learning into active engagement, encouraging students to
participate and stay focused throughout the lesson.
a. Participants
Surveys/Interviews: Collect feedback from students and teachers about their experiences with the apps.
Performance Data: Analyze student results from quizzes and activities conducted through the apps.
Qualitative Data: Analyze survey responses and interview insights to identify trends and patterns.
Quantitative Data: Compare pre- and post-intervention engagement levels and performance scores
using percentages and averages.

Sharing Results: Present the findings during a faculty meeting or a professional development session.
Utilization: Encourage other teachers to adopt educational apps in their lessons. Provide a guide or
training session to help them integrate the apps effectively.
Future Application: Use the results as a foundation for further studies on technology integration in
teaching.

Proposed Title:
Improving Student Engagement and Lesson Flow Through Effective Use of Educational Apps in the
Classroom
I. My Identified Problem
The problem I noticed in the classroom is that students often lose focus and interest during lessons,
which disrupts the flow of teaching and learning. This lack of engagement makes it difficult for students
to actively participate and retain the concepts taught.
Upon reflecting, I realized that traditional teaching methods may not always capture students' attention,
especially in a technology-driven generation. Many students are more engaged when using interactive
tools or technology, which makes learning more fun and meaningful for them. To address this, I believe
it is important to integrate educational apps into teaching. This could help make lessons more
interactive, improve student focus, and allow for smoother lesson transitions.
To solve the problem, I will introduce the use of educational apps during lessons to create interactive
activities and enhance student engagement. I will use apps such as Quizizz, Kahoot, and interactive
learning platforms to make lessons more engaging. These apps will be used for quizzes, reviews, and
collaborative tasks to ensure active participation from students. The intervention will take about 1-2
weeks to set up and integrate into lessons, and I will implement it over one grading period. I will
collaborate with my students, other teachers, and the school ICT coordinator for technical support and
suggestions.I will need access to the apps, internet connection, computers, or mobile devices for both
teacher and student use.
Data Collection: Use attendance records, quiz results, and feedback forms to assess engagement.
Timetable: Implement for one quarter, with weekly evaluations to monitor progress.

Writing the action research plan was both challenging and rewarding. It made me think deeply about the
problems in the classroom and how to solve them. I enjoyed coming up with ideas and creating a plan to
make lessons better for students. Although it took time and effort, it felt good to know that the plan
could help improve learning.
What knowledge, attitude, and skills did you have that helped accomplish it?
I used my knowledge of teaching strategies and technology to create the plan. My positive attitude and
determination kept me motivated to finish it. I also used my skills in organizing ideas and solving
problems to make sure the plan was clear and well-structured.
What do you still need to learn and develop in yourself to be a skilled teacher-researcher?
I need to learn more about analyzing data and creating tools like surveys or observation checklists. I also
want to improve my teamwork skills so I can work better with other teachers and get helpful feedback.
Lastly, I need to study more about research methods to make my future research better and more
effective. This experience showed me how important research is in teaching and inspired me to keep
learning and growing as a teacher.
