Egg Drop Challenge

Define: How can we drop Humpty Dumpty without cracking him?


Research: How can the egg drop help child development? By reading books on
how to make a parachute and gravity and weight.
Brainstorm: Which materials do we need for our parachute and items in the cup
to protect the egg?
Choose: The class decide on several
materials to use as the parachute
and the items in the cup.

Build/Create: Every student will build their own parachute and picked out which
items they want to place inside the cup to protect their egg from cracking.
Test: The students will drop their eggs and draw a picture weather their egg
cracked or didn’t crack.
Communicate: Students will learn about gravity and weight.
Redesign: The students drew a picture on how they could redesign their
parachute so their egg wouldn’t break.
