between 1985 and 2000.

The table above shows the distance in miles on each mode of travel over a fifteen-year span
which is between 1985 and 2000 in England. It can be seen that between 1985 and 2000 has
differences in average distance on each mode of travel. The total distance per person travelled
has increase in 2000 compared to 1985. There are various modes of travel include walking,
bicycle, car, local bus, local distance bus, train, taxi, and other.
In 1985 the total distance travelled by all modes of travel in England was only 4,740 and has
increase in 2000 to 4,806. The mode of travel with the longest average distance traveled is the
car, which has a significant increase from 3,199 to 4,806. It shows that car as a personal mode
of travel is more frequently used for long-distance travel compared to public modes of travel
in England. The average distance in miles travelled per person on each mode of travel mostly
has increase in 2000, except walking, bicycle, and local bus.
