TENSES

1. Present Tense S + V1

Rumus:

 (+) Subject + Verb1 (s/es untuk he/she/it) + Object


 (-) Subject + do/does + not + Verb1 + Object
 (?) Do/Does + Subject + Verb1 + Object?

Contoh:
(+): She eats breakfast every morning.
(-): She does not eat breakfast every morning.
(?): Does she eat breakfast every morning?

Latihan:

1. I play football every evening.


2. She likes ice cream.
3. They go to school by bus.
4. He works in an office.
5. We study English every day.

2. Past Tense S + V2

Rumus:

 (+) Subject + Verb2 + Object


 (-) Subject + did not + Verb1 + Object
 (?) Did + Subject + Verb1 + Object?

Contoh:
(+): They visited the museum last week.
(-): They did not visit the museum last week.
(?): Did they visit the museum last week?

Latihan:

1. I watched a movie last night.


2. She finished her homework.
3. They played basketball yesterday.
4. He bought a new car.
5. We went to the park.

3. Future Tense S + will + V1


Rumus:

 (+) Subject + will + Verb1 + Object


 (-) Subject + will not (won’t) + Verb1 + Object
 (?) Will + Subject + Verb1 + Object?

Contoh:
(+): I will travel to Bali next month.
(-): I will not travel to Bali next month.
(?): Will I travel to Bali next month?

Latihan:

1. She will join the competition.


2. They will visit their grandparents.
3. He will attend the meeting tomorrow.
4. I will cook dinner tonight.
5. We will go camping next weekend.

4. Past Future Tense (S + would + V1)

Rumus:

 (+) Subject + would + Verb1 + Object


 (-) Subject + would not + Verb1 + Object
 (?) Would + Subject + Verb1 + Object?

Contoh:
(+): He said he would call me later.
(-): He said he would not call me later.
(?): Would he call me later?

Latihan:

1. I would help her if she needed me.


2. They would travel if they had money.
3. She would study harder for the exam.
4. He would join the team.
5. We would invite them to the party.

5. Present Perfect (S + have/has + V3)

Rumus:

 (+) Subject + has/have + Verb3 + Object


 (-) Subject + has/have + not + Verb3 + Object
 (?) Has/Have + Subject + Verb3 + Object?

Contoh:
(+): She has completed her assignment.
(-): She has not completed her assignment.
(?): Has she completed her assignment?

Latihan:

1. I have visited Paris.


2. He has finished his lunch.
3. They have bought a new house.
4. She has seen that movie.
5. We have read this book.

6. Past Perfect (S + had + V3)

Rumus:

 (+) Subject + had + Verb3 + Object


 (-) Subject + had not + Verb3 + Object
 (?) Had + Subject + Verb3 + Object?

Contoh:
(+): They had left before I arrived.
(-): They had not left before I arrived.
(?): Had they left before I arrived?

Latihan:

1. She had prepared dinner before we came.


2. He had finished his project by noon.
3. We had visited the zoo before it rained.
4. They had gone to the party earlier.
5. I had met him before the meeting.

7. Present Continuous (S + is/am/are + Ving)

Rumus:

 (+) Subject + is/am/are + Verb-ing + Object


 (-) Subject + is/am/are + not + Verb-ing + Object
 (?) Is/Am/Are + Subject + Verb-ing + Object?

Contoh:
(+): She is studying for her exams.
(-): She is not studying for her exams.
(?): Is she studying for her exams?

Latihan:

1. I am reading a book.
2. They are watching TV.
3. He is playing the guitar.
4. We are working on the project.
5. She is cooking dinner.

8. Past Continuous (S + was/were + Ving)

Rumus:

 (+) Subject + was/were + Verb-ing + Object


 (-) Subject + was/were + not + Verb-ing + Object
 (?) Was/Were + Subject + Verb-ing + Object?

Contoh:
(+): They were playing football when it started raining.
(-): They were not playing football when it started raining.
(?): Were they playing football when it started raining?

Latihan:

1. I was sleeping at 10 PM.


2. She was writing a letter.
3. They were running in the park.
4. He was listening to music.
5. We were having dinner.
