Ancient feudal societies are societies that lived in the past and
their major means are societies that lived in the past and their
major means of production based on land ownership.

In feudal societies few people owned fertile and arable land,

while the majorities were employed as workers. The arable and
fertile soil was owned by rich people. These people were known as
Landlords. The poor people were given land which was not good for
crop cultivation. These people were known as tenants. The tenants
sometimes used to work in the land of the rich in order to get their
needs. Ancient feudal societies in Tanzania were divided into three
major types. These types were Nyarubanja in Buhaya, Ubugabire in
Buha area in Kigoma and Umwinyi in the Coast. In the coast the
