Q2. In this question we want to evaluate without a calculator sin−1 (sin ( 6 )).
7𝜋
a. Why won’t your answer be equal to ?

b. We must first find what is sin ( 6 ) equal to. We can sketch and use reference angle to find
this.

c. Now we can find the inverse sine of the value you got in part b. Our angle answer must be in

the interval [− 2 . 2 ]

Q3. Evaluate the following:

4𝜋
a.sin(sin−1(0.8)) b. cos −1 (cos ( 3 ))
3𝜋 √2
c.tan−1 (tan ( 4 )) d. cos(sin−1 (− ))

Q4: Use a sketch to find the exact value of tan [sin−1 (− 5)]

Q5. You are standing 300 feet from the base of a tree and the angle of elevation from the point
you are standing to the top of the tree is 38.7. Find the height of the tree (leave your answer in
calculator ready form).

Q6. A ramp is to be built beside the steps to the campus library. Find the angle of elevation of
the 20-foot ramp, if its final height is 5 feet. Leave your answer in calculator ready form.
Q7. Given: A = 43.4 and c = 80. Find the remaining parts of the triangle shown below. (Leave
your answers in calculator ready form).

Q8. A flagpole is situated on top of a building. The angle of elevation from a point on level
ground 300 feet from the building to the top of the flagpole is 65°. The angle of elevation
from the same point to the bottom of the flagpole is 55°. Find the height of the flagpole (leave
your answers in calculator ready form). Drawing a diagram is a must for this problem.
