Radio Functions
This document describes radio-related commands. It is split into the following major
sections.

Payload Encryption
These commands allow the user to configure payload encryption on the device.
l show payload-encryption [status] - Print the active configuration of payload
encryption for each radio link to the CLI.
l payload-encryption config link-id <secret-id(8-64)> - Set the link ID to be used for
the interface.
l payload-encryption config lifetime <days(1-10))> - Specify lifetime of the
generated encryption key.
l payload-encryption enable - Enable payload encryption for the interface.
l no payload-encryption enable - Disable payload encryption for the interface.
l payload-encryption change-key - Manually trigger an encryption key change
regardless of whether the key lifetime has expired or not.
WARNING: Since payload encryption has the ability to affect access to the unit, it is
recommend that a revert timer should be used when editing these configurations.

Command Objective
This command disables payload encryption for the interface.

Command Objective
This command manually trigger an encryption key change regardless of whether the key
lifetime has expired or not.

Parameter Description

The number of days for which the generated shared key will be valid and after which a
new key will be generated.

Parameter Description
secret-id
The shared secret identifier that both the local and remote interface know and use to
encrypt traffic.

Command Objective
This command enables payload encryption for the interface. The link must have a link ID
configured before it can be enabled.

Command Objective
This command prints the active configuration of payload encryption for each radio link to the
CLI. This includes:
l the interface name,
l whether traffic transmitted on the interface is encrypted,
l the active key ID used for encryption/ decryption,
l the chosen lifetime of the generated key, and
l the amount of time remaining until the key expires.

diagnostic plugin-online
Command Objective
This command locks the protected radio path to use a particular plug-in for a period of
time. This can be used to assist when temporarily removing the unused plug-in from the
protected system.

Syntax
diagnostic plugin-online [<chassis>/]<slot> { indefinite | time
<seconds> }
Parameter Description
chassis
The chassis to enable diagnostic on.
slot
The slot to enable diagnostic on.
indefinite
Enable the diagnostic until a command to disable it is issued.
seconds
Duration in seconds to enable the diagnostic for.

This command sets up splitter physical parameters for a protected link.

Set the splitter gain to be the same on both paths.

These commands enable the user to view and configure performance statistics.
l show g826 day on page 20 - Print the specified device’s G.826 daily statistic bins
for days included in the given date range.
l show g826 qhour on page 21 - Print the G.826 specified device’s quarter hour
statistic bins whose start time is included in the given time range.
l show g826 realtime on page 23 - Print the real-time G.826 performance statistics
for a device.
l show rxperf day on page 24 - Print the specified device’s receiver performance
daily statistic bins for days included in the given date range.
l show rxperf qhour on page 25 - Print the specified device’s receiver performance
quarter hour statistic bins whose start time is included in the given time range.

Command Objective
This command sets the maximum capacity to be used by a particular radio link.
Syntax
capacity { max | <capacity_value> }
Parameter Description
max
Set to maximum carrying capacity of the link to the maximum configured
modulation/bandwidth.
capacity_value
Specify the maximum capacity in Mbps.

Command Objective
This command disables modulation on the output signal. The timer counts down each
second, and when the value reaches zero, modulation will be enabled again.

This command enables the loopback interface diagnostic. The timer counts down each

Command Objective
This command locks the modem onto a particular modulation. This stops adaptive
modulation for the duration of the diagnostic. The timer counts down each second, and when
the value reaches zero, the modem modulation will be unlocked.
N O TE: This c ommand c an als o be us ed to c hange the modulation that the
modem is loc ked to w ithout c hanging the loc k dur ation by not s pec ifying
a time value.

diagnostic modulation <modulation_type> { indefinite | time
<seconds> }
Parameter Description
modulation_type
Modulation to lock the interface to, selected from the list of supported modulations
shown in the modulation command.
indefinite
Enable the diagnostic until a command to disable it is issued.

The number of seconds to enable the diagnostic for.

This command enables the Tx mute fault management function. When active, this function
will mute the transmitter’s output.

Set the time in seconds until the function is disabled.

Command Objective
This command enables the RFU power supply management function. When active, this
function will disable the power supply to the RFU.

Set the function to be enabled indefinitely.

Set the time in seconds until the function is disabled.

Command Objective
This command enables L1LA Lite on a CTR 8312.
L1LA Lite aggregates the capacity provided on one co-path group of 2 member links
supported from ODU1 and ODU2 on a CTR 8312.
L1LA Lite Pre-Configuration:
l L1LA Lite requires pre-configuration of the individual member radio links.
l Both links must be configured for the same channel bandwidth and modulation.
l Only ODU 1 of the CTR 8312 is configured to enable L1LA on ODU1 and ODU2.

modulation mask
Command Objective
This command sets the licensed RF modulation mask of a radio interface.
The transmit power output will be controlled to comply with the specified licensed RF mask,
according to the active modulation. Note that this only has an effect when the unit is
configured for adaptive modulation.

For adaptive coding and modulation, set the base and maximum modulations, and the

The licensed RF modulation mask, selected from the list of supported modulations
below. See modulation mask for more information.
Supported Modulations
The following modulations are supported: NONE, QPSK, 16QAM, 32QAM, 64QAM, 128QAM,
256QAM, 512QAM, 1024QAM-HG (high-gain).
