🌟 The Math Race -Join the Exciting Math Competitions! 🧮

Dear Students
We are thrilled to announce a series of exciting Math Competitions for Grades 5 to 8 that
will challenge your skills, ignite your creativity, and allow you to collaborate with your
peers! This is your chance to explore the world of Math through hands-on projects,
problem-solving races, and even robotics! Whether you're a budding engineer, a puzzle
enthusiast, or a math genius, there's something for everyone!

We invite you to participate in the following Math Competitions:

1) Create working models for Math concepts (Grades 5 to 8)

Grade-wise competition for grades 5 to 8


Team composition: Individual or team participation (up to 3 members per team)
Challenge: Design a working model that demonstrates a fundamental mathematical
concept, such as geometric shapes, symmetry, fractions, or measurement. Incorporating
elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) will earn
additional points.
Objective: Build a model that brings math to life through creativity and innovation.

 Mathematical Accuracy (10m)
 Practicality and Functionality(10m)
 Integration of Math into STEAM (10m)
 Presentation and Communication(10m)
 Real-World Application and Impact(10m)

2) Create Math Visual effects using technology /create math videos (Grades 7 and 8)

Team composition: Individual or team participation (up to 3 members per team)


Challenge: Are you passionate about technology and creativity? Use digital tools to create
visual effects or math videos that explain math concepts engagingly and innovatively.
Objective: Develop mathematical understanding, creativity, and technical skills,
Make the abstract concepts more tangible and easier to understand.
Rubrics :
 Mathematical Accuracy(10m)
 Creativity and Innovation(10m)
 Technical Execution(10m)
 Clarity and Understanding of the Concept(10m)
 Interactivity and Engagement(10m)

3) Math Relay Races (Grades 5 to 8)

Team composition: Four house teams -Each team consists of 8 members.


A preliminary round will be conducted for all students to select the House teams.
Challenge: Race against your peers in a house-wise math relay race! Teams will compete
to solve a series of math problems. In the house team, each team will solve a set of
questions before passing the baton to the next team.
Objective: Be the fastest and most accurate team to solve the math problems!
Domains: Number Sense, Measurement, Space, Chance and probability
Rubrics:
 Mathematical Accuracy(10m)
 Speed and Efficiency(10m)
 Teamwork and Collaboration(10m)
 Problem-Solving Strategy(10m)
 Adherence to Rules and Fair Play(10m)

Competition Details
 Date of Competitions: 11/12/24-Wednesday (Tentative date)
 Time: 8:00 am to 9:00 am (Tentative time)
 Location: School Auditorium
 Interested students should give their names to their respective Math teacher by
27/11/24.
 Each student may participate in only one competition.
 Registration deadline: 29/11/24.
