Charger. Both cars boast incredible horsepower and
astonishing speed, sure to make you the envy of other
drivers in Angleton, Texas, and beyond. Knowing some
differences between the Challenger and the Charger can
help you choose the right one for you. Explore this guide for
a full comparison of the 2023 Dodge Challenger versus the
2023 Dodge Charger.

Trims and Price

Both the 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger come in a

variety of trims. You can get the Challenger in 10 unique
flavors: the SXT, GT, R/T, R/T Scat Pack, R/T Scat Pack
Widebody, SRT Hellcat Jailbreak, SRT Hellcat Widebody
Jailbreak, SRT Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak, SRT Hellcat
Redeye Widebody Jailbreak, and SRT Super Stock. The
Dodge Challenger has a starting entry price of $31,965
MSRP.

If you choose the Charger, you’ll have the option of seven

different styles: the SXT, GT, R/T, Scat Pack, Scat Pack
Widebody, SRT Hellcat Widebody Jailbreak, and SRT
Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak. You’ll spend a bit more on the
base Charger, which has a starting MSRP of $34,230.
Other trims have similar pricing between the two models,
increasing in cost as you gain additional features in the
upper trims.

In 2023, Dodge has released special-edition Last Call

packages to celebrate the end of the Charger and
Challenger before new models transition to an expected
electric platform. These packages offer features to
commemorate both cars’ legacies, including special
plaques stamped with the final model year and the return of
favorite exterior paint colors like Destroyer Gray, Plum
Crazy, Sublime, and B5 Blue.

Engine and Performance

The Dodge Challenger offers five engine choices to satisfy
both driving enthusiasts and ultimate thrill-seekers. The
standard 3.6-liter V-6 engine delivers 303 horsepower and
pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Other
Hemi V-8 engines provide additional power and high-energy
performance. In the Challenger R/T Scat Pack, a 392 Hemi
V-8 produces 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. For
maximum power, you can opt for the 6.2-liter high-output
Hemi V-8, generating an astounding 797 horsepower on
Hellcat Redeye models and 807 horsepower on the SRT
Super Stock and SRT Jailbreak.

Like the Challenger, the Charger offers several engine

options depending on your preferences. The base 3.6-liter
V-6 engine produces 292 horsepower. It mates with an
eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.
Under the hood of a Dodge Charger R/T, a 345 Hemi V-8
boosts the horsepower to 370 with 395 lb-ft of torque. At the
top of the engine lineup, the 6.2-liter Hemi V-8, standard on
the SRT Hellcat, delivers up to 807 horsepower and 707 lb-
ft of torque.

Seating and Passenger Space

The biggest difference between the Dodge Challenger and
the Charger is their size. The Challenger is a two-door
coupe with seating for up to five passengers. Front-seat
passengers get 42 inches of legroom, while those in the
back get 33.1 inches. In comparison, the Charger is a four-
door sedan that also seats five. Passenger space is
comparable to the Challenger in the front seats. However,
back-seat passengers will be much comfier in the Charger,
which offers 40.1 of legroom in the rear seats.

Cargo Capacity
While the Charger may offer more interior space, both cars
have similar cargo capacities in the trunk. In the Challenger,
you’ll get 16.2 cubic feet of cargo volume, while the Charger
offers 16.5 cubic feet of volume. Both cars come with
60/40-split rear seats, so you can fold them down when you
need extra space and access to the back seats.

Interior Features
Inside both the Dodge Challenger and the Charger, a wide
variety of features will make you feel right at home, whether
you’re commuting in Angleton, Texas, or competing on the
racetrack. The Challenger comes standard with cloth seats,
with available leather-trimmed upholstery. Dual-zone
automatic temperature control allows you and your front-
seat passenger to choose your own comfort preferences. A
7-inch driver information display lets you keep track of your
vehicle stats and performance timers, including your 0-60
mph times.

The Dodge Charger features the same 7-inch driver

information display and push button start/stop functionality.
Remote vehicle start also comes standard, so you can turn
on the vehicle before you even leave the house. An air
filtration system provides optimal comfort for you and your
passengers. Like the Challenger, the Charger comes
standard with cloth seats, while upper trims add luxurious
leather-trimmed upholstery.

Technology and Infotainment

Whether you drive the 2023 Challenger or Charger, you’re
guaranteed to have the latest technology and infotainment
at your fingertips. Both cars come with either a 7-inch or
8.4-inch customizable Uconnect touch screen. The screen
integrates seamlessly with Apple CarPlay and Android
Auto, so you have easy access to your music, podcasts,
and other phone apps. A six-speaker audio system comes
standard in both cars. If you prefer, an available nine-
speaker stereo or 19-speaker Harman Kardon premium
audio system will elevate your jam-out sessions when
driving around Angleton.

Safety Features
You can feel confident behind the wheel of either a Dodge
Challenger or Charger. Both muscle cars have reinforced
frames constructed of high-strength steel. A safety frame
and roof strength help to protect vehicle passengers in the
event of an accident. Both cars also come with multistage
front air bags, side-curtain air bags, and front seat-mounted
side air bags. A rear backup camera shows you what’s
behind the vehicle on the Uconnect touch screen so you
can back out of the driveway or into a parking spot with
ease.

In addition to standard safety features, both the Challenger

and the Charger offer available driver-assistance features
to enhance your safety on the Angleton roadways. Some
available features in both cars include:
