structure has wide spans of control. This makes these structures have slower
communication and low managers, respectively

11. The taller the structure means that there will be more managers, meaning that there
will consequently be more workers reporting them, therefore the chains of command
would be longer
12. Two advantages of delegation are giving senior managers more time to focus on
important strategic roles and showing trust in subordinates, which can motivate them
and challenge their skills
13. It can lead to demotivation if the workers feel that their skills don’t meet what they’re
expecting.
14. Centralization is when decisions are made at the top, ensuring consistency and
control but limiting flexibility and local responsiveness. It’s efficient for uniformity but
can slow adaptation and stifle employee initiative. Decentralization is when
distributed to lower levels, promoting flexibility, innovation, and local adaptability.
However, it risks inconsistency and potential coordination challenges.
