Pathways Upper Intermediate Level 2
This is a list of some of our books and activities for your level of English.
You may change any activity, but talk with an LSC staff member about it first. You do not have to do
all the activities. Try to come to the LSC at least 3 times per week and talk with an LSC staff member
each time you come.
Course books
Try each one of the suggestions and choose one that you like. Try to spend at least 1 hour per day
working from these books.
Listening
Do exercises from as many different tapes as you can. Each tape will give you practice with different
voices and accents.

Speaking
Try and use these books or activities with a small group. Just two is fine. Try to find something that
you are all interested in to talk about

Write in your books using every second line, then give to your ESOL teacher or the LSC staff to

Check your answers in the book and ask your teacher or the LSC staff if you don't understand.
Reading
You should read a wide range of books, stories, newspaper articles and magazines.

Videos
You should watch a video at least once per week. Ask the LSC staff for a list of videos.
Ask a staff member for a list of our videos. Try to watch a video with a friend.
Stop the video when you don't understand it and discuss it with your friend.
Computers
Ask the LSC staff for a list of computer titles.
Ask for the complete list of computer programs. Some programs will print out on the
LSC student printer, ask for the paper tray for the printer.
Vocabulary
You should keep your own vocabulary book in a small exercise book; add new words when you find
them.
Ask an LSC staff member about new ways to organise your vocabulary book.
