Reinforced Cement Concrete Work

■ Cement Concrete
■ Reinforcement Bars

1
Bar Bending Schedule (BBS)

■ It is used to communicate the design requirement of

reinforcement of steel to the fabricator and execution team
to calculate weight of each size of steel.
■ It is an inclusive list that describes the location, mark, type,
size, length, number and bending details of each bar in a
reinforcement drawing of a structure.

2
Bar Bending Schedule (BBS)
It comprise of:
■ Member Identification (Beam, Column, Slab, etc.)
■ Bar Mark (Top, Bottom, Stirrup, etc.)
■ Shape of bar
■ Type of Steel
■ Diameter of bar
■ Length of each bar
■ Number of bar
■ Total Length
■ Weight
3
Member Identification

4
Bar Mark and No. of Bars
■ For each structural members each bars has a mark or a
designation
Top, Bottom, Stirrups, Bent-up, Extra, etc.

■ For members like beams, columns, Walls ,etc. bars can be

calculated manual counting from the structural drawing,
■ For members like slab, or stirrups in beams and columns,
𝐿𝑒𝑛𝑔𝑡ℎ 𝑜𝑓 𝑀𝑒𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟 − 2 × 𝐶𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑟 𝐶𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟
𝑁𝑜 . 𝑜𝑓 𝑏𝑎𝑟𝑠 =
