Introduction:
The line graph observes/compares three
different countries
namely the USA, Mexico and Canada in terms of
percentage of population using the internet over a 10 years period,
starting from 1999.

Overview- overall/it is evident that


Overall, Mexico had the lowest proportion of internet users in its
population, while Canada experienced the fastest growth
in internet usage. It is also noticeable that the proportion of people who
used the internet in each country increased throughout/over the period
shown.

Body para 1- selecting and reporting the main features


In 1999, the percentage/proportion of people who used the
internet was highest in the USA at around 20%. This figure was
significantly higher than those of Mexico and Canada, in which
levels of internet users stood at 5% and 10% respectively. In 2005,
Internet usage in both the USA and Canada rose to around 70% of the
population, while the figure for Mexico reached just over 25%.

By 2009, almost 100% of Canadians were using the Internet, the greatest
figure for that year followed by the USA at 80%. Mexico’s figure was the
lowest with less than half of the population using the Internet.

Line Graph
The charts below show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of
time spent doing housework and households in one country between 1920 and 2019.

The charts above depict the changes that ownership of electrical appliances, and amount of time
doing housework had gone through from 1920 to 2019 percentagewise.

Overall, all three appliances namely washing machine, refrigerator and vacuum cleaner
experienced upward trend during the century, and it caused a decrease in amount of time spent
for household work.
Bar Graph

The chart below gives information about USA marriage and divorce rates between
1970 and 2000, and the marital status of adult Americans in two of the year.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make
comparisons where relevant.

The first bar chart shows the number of marriages and divorces between year 1970 - 2000 in
USA and the second bar chart shows marital status of adult American people in year 1970 and
2000.

It is evident that number of marriages have declined from year 1970 to 2000. The majority of
adult Americans were married, but proportion of single adults was greater in year 2000.
Pie Chart

The pie charts illustrate the proportion of UK school expenditure in the years 1981, 1991 and
2001. It includes four items to show the changes, there are annual spending of teacher’s salaries,
furniture and equipment, resources, other workers’ salaries, and insurance.

Overall, it is clear that the largest proportion of spending was on personnel expenses, which took
around 65% of total expenditure in average.

The Table below shows the results of a survey that asked 6800 Scottish adults (aged 16
years and over) whether they had taken part in different cultural activities in the past 12
months.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons
where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.

The table illustrates the results of research undertaken in Scotland with adults aged
from 16-74 to assess their involvement in a variety of cultural activities over a 12-
month period.

Overall, it is evident that participation in any performance and crafts


were the most popular for all age groups.
