STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I, Godfrey Odoh h a v e i n d i c a t e s i n t e r e s t t o s t u d y Projects Management at


University of Salford. Applying for this program gives me great joy because through this
program my knowledge will be broaden on how to manage critical evaluations of Projects
Management theories, issues, tools, procedures and effective business analysis.

I have chosen to study at University of Salford because of the availability of adequate


learning and teaching material. Also, because of their internal quality assurance policies
and global ranking as one of the best University in terms of strong connection with
industries.

As a seasoned professional in the hospitality industry with a background in Economics, I


am motivated to pursue a demanding academic education to broaden my knowledge in
Projects Management. Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 21 years, where
I coordinated flawless guest experiences and maximized operational effectiveness. I have
developed a deep understanding of the complexities involved in overseeing complex
projects. My experience in the hospitality industry has given me essential abilitie s in
stakeholder interaction, resource allocation, and team leadership.

The program would create a real positive impact and potentially transform my career in
this new profession. My goal is to use my cross-functional knowledge to promote
sustainable growth, improve efficiency, and stimulate creativity in a variety of projects
setting. With joint research possibilities and faculty mentorship, I am excited to contribute
to ground-breaking in projects that raise the bar for industry norms and improve
organizational performance.

With a background understanding in hospitality management and Economics theories and


principles, it’s my believe that studying Projects Management will build upon my
understanding of how economic policies affect and influence households, firm and
government decisions and the ability to monitor, understand and make adequate
decisions when carrying out any project to ensure not only its workability but also its
efficiency. This would also give me the opportunity to better grow and manage my
companies and the projects entrusted in my care by the Association of Professional Chefs
Nigeria upon arrival to my home country Nigeria. This would give me the opportunity to
gain real-world knowledge and transferable skills that employers look for in job seekers
or a professional consultancy. These and many more opportunity I look forward to
acquire and be fully equipped with at University of Salford, while studying Project
Management.

Fascinated by the academic excellence and reputation which these great and esteemed
higher institutions of learning hold, I am happy to associate with this community. I believe
that with the school community, colleagues from different countries, our relationship will
not only be limited to enhancing unity in our diversities but also serve as a ground to
share ideas and experience. As I look forward to advancing my career in this new
profession, I believe that being part of this great institution will help me to make this
objective come through and to become an outstanding figure in this profession when I
return back to my home country Nigeria after the completion of this program.
