1. Express each of the following percents as ratios in the simplest form:


(i) 2.5%
(ii) 0.4%

2. Ram scored 553 marks out of 700 and Gita scored 486 marks out of 600 in science.
Whose performance is better?

3. Solve :
I. 2(x+2)+5(x+5)=4(x-8)+2(x-2)
II. (x-7)/3 = (x-1)/5

4. A positive number is 5 time another number. If 21 is added to both the numbers,


then one of the new numbers become twice of other new numbers. Find the
original numbers.

5. Mr Virmani saves 12% of his salary. If he receives Rs 15900 per month as salary, find
his monthly expenditure.

6. 45% of the students in a school are boys. If the total number of students in the
school is 880, find the number of girls in the school.

7. Three consecutive integers are as such they are taken in increasing order and
multiplied by 2, 3, and 4, respectively, they add up to 56. Find these numbers.

8. The denominator of a fraction is greater than the numerator by 8. If the numerator


is increased by 17 and denominator is decreased by 1, the number obtained is 3/2.
Find the fraction.

9. Solve :
a) 9x - 6 ≥ 12, x ∈ N
b) 6x + 2 ≤ 20, x ∈ W
c) 7x + 2 < -12, x ∈ I

10. Find the number whose 12 ½ % is 64. Also ,Find 20% more than Rs.200.
