End of Term Two Progress Report – 20TH December, 2024.

The purpose of this report is to reflect on Rooa Zowk’s progress and

achievement during the Autumn Term, as such the focus is on what Rooa
can do, areas of improvement, strategies leading to improvement as well
as next stages in her learning. The report does not describe the
programmes of study that Rooa completed during the Autumn Term.

MIS will have achieved its prime objective if you, as a parent, can
appreciate how well Rooa is developing as a learner and a member of the
school.

How the staff at MIS reached their findings

Each teacher has used a variety of assessment methods to determine

Rooa’s level of achievement. These include:
Formal and informal assessment which includes both verbal and
written aspects;
Observing Rooa whilst completing a range of learning activities;
Speaking to Rooa about his learning.
Monitoring the quality of classwork and homework.

Key Competencies

MIS has amended how it reports on key competencies. On this occasion,

individual subjects have identified specific key competencies.

The progress she has made with the key competencies has been recorded
using the grading criteria applied by Cambridge. This approach has been
adopted as it was felt that it would help her become familiar with her
understanding of this criteria before beginning any course

Please Note:

It is important to remember that learners start at different points and

progress in learning in different ways and at different rates from one
another. There may be times therefore when she will need more time and
support to achieve the expected standard.
In addition, progress must not be viewed as a constant upward trajectory.
There may be dips in performance. However, what is important is that as
a parent you are made aware of this and that Farah has the strategies and
support to overcome any slippage in performance.

Interpreting the Grade Awarded

The report comments on Rooa s 20% of classwork, 10 % homework and

assessment (20% of mid –term score and 50% of end of term score) in
form of a percentage [100%]. These are combined to give her an overall
100% and grade to show how she is progressing. The higher the
percentage the better Rooa’s performing.

The grade boundaries are as follows:

0% – 35% = E grade
36% – 49% = D grade
50% – 64% = C grade
65% – 79% = B grade
80% – 96% = A grade
97% – 100% = A* grade
