Advisor Background
What is Advisor?
Summary of lessons learned by others

Installation quality tool

Engine selection
Design phase
Testing phase
Added value for customers

 Application Engineering Bulletins

Currently used for Industrial only

It is not an “approval” tool or a “design” tool. It is a “validation” tool.

Advisor IQA Process
The OEM Designs the new The OEM completes the Design
Review (Beta or better) and Cummins Application
machine with the assistance of Engineer performs the
Cummins Advisor and regular builds the OEM prototype
machine Installation Review to confirm
discussions with the Cummins Design Review documentation
Application Engineer and calculations

Advisor

Process The Advisor Installation Review
Report is shared with the OEM
Advisor Design Review audited at Cummins for
compliance to IQA requirements.
Successful audit is required for
production launch by the OEM.

Create a DR from IR

Useful when you are going from one Tier

level to another and have a completed
Installation Review
Don’t need to enter all the data from your
IR into a DR
Will have the Testing information from your
original IR when you go to make an IR from
this DR

 Select the Installation

Review by left clicking on
the review
 Right click on selected
review and choose “Create
DR from IR”
