Production Feasibility
1.1 Purchases
- The ingredients of the product like the all-purpose flour, white sugar, iodized salt, egg, unsalted
butter, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, heavy cream, semisweet chocolate, marshmallow, white
chocolate and the food coloring will all be purchased at the Puregold Supermarket. If some ingredients
are currently not available in Puregold, the ingredients will be purchased at the South Emerald
Supermarket. Both Puregold and South Emerald are located in Murallon, Boac, Marinduque. After the
purchase, the ingredients will be transported to the production place using a tricycle. Meanwhile for the
packaging, the materials that will be used in the process will be bought online. The packaging materials
will be bought using an online shopping application called "Shopee".
1.2 Preparation
- The ingredients and the materials will both be prepared first. All the materials that will be used in
the creation of the product will be washed thoroughly. The white chocolates and dried fruits will be
crushed separately and the ingredients for the shell will be prepared for the baking stage. The dry
ingredients like the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder and white sugar will all be sifted. The inside of the
molding containers will also be covered with unsalted butter.
1.3 Baking
- After preparing the ingredients, the baking process will begin. The all-purpose flour, eggs, unsalted
butter, white sugar, iodized salt, vanilla extract and the cold water will all be mixed together in a bowl to
form the dough for the shell. The dough will be kneaded until it reaches the appropriate form. After
that, it will be divided into smaller portions and each portion will be placed in a molding container .Then
it will be baked in a preheated oven for 20 minutes with the temperature of 349⁰ F until it is fully
cooked.
1.4 Mixing
- In this stage, the ingredients for the filling and toppings will be mixed together. First, for the
toppings, the crushed white chocolate will be melted. After it melts, it will be mixed with a small amount
of food coloring. For the marshmallow filled version of the tart, a pack of marshmallows will be melted
and it will be mixed with fruits like nuts and prunes. While for the chocolate filled version, the
semisweet chocolate will be melted and it will also be mixed with nuts. The fillings will be placed in their
respective shells immediately after mixing before it cools down and returns to its solid form again. After
placing the filling, the tart will be placed inside a refrigerator for 30 minutes.
1.5 Decorating
- After refrigerating, the tart will be decorated. The tart will be decorated using the melted white
chocolate with food colorings. Simple illustrations will be drawn to the top of each tart. The design of
the illustrations will vary and customers can also make requests.
1.6 Packaging
- After decorating, the finished product will be packaged. The packaging for the product will vary
depending on the amount of pieces ordered,. For a single piece order, the tart will be placed inside a
small plastic pouch. But for a large amount of order, the tarts will be placed inside a box.
1.9 Marketing
- The product will be promoted using three different promotional mixes which are advertising,
personal selling and sales promotion. Small printed flyers will be distributed to attract customers. A
Facebook page will also be utilized to further widen the reach of the product. The method of personal
selling will also be used to market the product directly to the customers. And lastly, special pricings will
be also be implemented to convince the customers to buy the product. If a customer decided to
purchase a large amount of the product, that costumer can qualify for the "buy more get one free"
promo of the establishment.
