You can be a role-model and mentor to Hispanic students many who are entering college
as the first in their family - through the process of thinking, reading, writing in another
culture
Research serves because it is of interest to hispanic students and teaches non-hispanic
students about culture, your teaching is engaging and empathetic, and you are there
especially to help UCSD efforts towards Diversity Equity and Inclusion
