1. How did people communicate before language was invented?


Ans: Early humans drew pictures of animals and hunting scenes on rocks and walls of caves to
communicate before language was invented.

2.What is a script?

Ans: A Script is a set of letters used to write a language.

3. Who developed the first scripts? What was it called?

Ans:The Sumerians of Mesopotamia were the first to developed scripts. It was called the hieroglyphics.

4.How did the number system come into existence?

Ans: The number system come into existence through early humans they used stones, sticks and
pebbles to count these were soon replaced by dots or symbol but this method was not reliable after that
people in different parts of the world used their own number system.

5. Why did hand written records have great value?

Ans: Hand written records have great value because they were written by hand again to make more
copies. Only limited copies were available and few people were able to buy so these records have great
value.

6. What is Braille script? How is it read?

Ans: Braille script is a system of writing for the people who could not see. It is read by running the
fingers lightly over the dots raised on paper.

7. What impact did the printing press have on written records?

Ans: The invention of the printing press made the production of many copies of books possible which
were limited due to hand written so it was a great impact on written records.
