CSC Rules & Regulations for the Students

Dress Code & Appearance

1) The uniform should be properly washed, ironed and should not look shabby.
2) The school T-shirt and the Navy Blue Bottom, white socks , black shoes with the house badge will be the casual uniform .
3) The formal uniform is the White shirt and the Navy Blue Trouser/Skirt(up to knee length) with the school tie and house badge.
4) Play group to grade 2 students (both boys and girls) must wear the shorts and grade 6 and upwards boys must wear long trousers and
girls must wear the skirt (1 inch below the knee).
5) Muslim girls must wear only navy - blue scarves.
6) All the students must wear the sports dress during the sports meet practice days and Sports meet day.

7) All the school boys must have a proper hair cut as below given image.
8) Beard /moustaches and side burns are not allowed.
9) All the school girls should tie one plait with two white wool bands as the below given image.

10) Tinting /colouring/rebonding/straightening hair /threading eyebrows &face is not allowed.

11) Any student visits the school for any purpose on school holidays / after school must attend in school uniform.
12) Nails should be trimmed and girls are not allowed to apply any nail polish.
13) Girls are not allowed to come to school with painted mehendi in their hands.

Accessories
1) Wearing makeup, chains, fancy earrings, bracelets, tattoos, fancy badges, anklets and any kind of bands is strictly prohibited in the
school.
2) Students are not allowed to bring wallets to the school premises.
3) Nose piercing is strictly prohibited and boys are not allowed to pierce the ears.
4) Girls are not allowed to wear any decorative hair clips or bands.
5) If any of above accessories found,that will be confiscated.
6) School bags with additional wires. chargers, batteries are strictly prohibited.
7) Students only can wear a simple wrist watch,with a black strap.
Attendance
1) Students are expected to attend on every school day.
2) A student who fails to attend at least 80% of the instructional days may effect on their promotions to next grade.
3) If a child is absent for 3 consecutive days the parent must inform the Class teacher/ Principal the reason on the 3rd day with a formal
letter signed by the parent with proof. If they know the reason prior to the required date must inform the authorities at least one week
before.
4) Students are not allowed to fly abroad for any reason without the permission of the school. The parents must submit a formal letter to
the school Principal before the ticket bookings. The school will not encourage the students to fly during the school days.

5) Students must attend all the exams conducted by the school and poor attendance may effect on promotions and admission for state
examinations.
6) Once the student has left Cambridge School of Colombo, your studentship is cancelled with immediate effect and you cannot come to
school for any reason. If a student need, to visit the school Principal’s permission is mandatory.

7) Student who leaves the school must apply for the leaving / character certificate within 3 months. The students who complete up to
Advance Level at Cambridge School of Colombo only will be eligible to obtain a character certificate.

8) Students who have not completed 1 year in this school will not be eligible for any visa letter or leaving certificate.

Absenteeism / Leaving
1) The students must provide the consent letter to the class teacher if another person except parents comes to pick.
2) The late comers will be recorded and taken strict action on them depending on the number of late days. This will reflect on term end
Progress report too.
3) Any student needs to leave early must provide a letter from the parents to the class teacher stating the reason. The students can leave
early only if the letter is approved by the school Principal.
4) Leaving / Character certificates will be issued only on Wednesday and Thursday after 2.30 p.m. , if a request letter is provided to the
principal 2 weeks ahead or on a prior appointment.
5) The Student Record Book and the Original Refundable deposit invoice must be submitted to the admission department with the request
letter for the leaving certificate.
6) If any student has any idea to leave from the school 3 months prior notice must be provided to the admission department.
7) Students who left the school must request for the Leaving certificate within 3 months from the last attended date.

Academic
1) Students must bring the books according to the time table.
2) The grades that are given the opportunity to choose subjects on parent’s approval given through a formal letter cannot be changed during
the course.
3) Students are responsible for all the books and stationeries they bring in to the school.
4) All the text books and writing books must be covered properly and named as instructed by the authorities.
5) Students must complete the notes within the given period.
6) Any incomplete notes may lead to stay after school until the notes are completed.
7) The students who get absent to the school must make sure that the notes are completed within the next day after student report back to
school.
8) Students must make sure that the books are corrected and signed by the subject teachers.
9) All the comments and corrections marked by the subject teacher need to be followed and corrected and signed by the teacher within a
day.
10) All the resources that are requested by the subject teachers need to bring on the given date.
11) If you burrow any student’s books for copying a note or references please make sure that the book is returned safely and on time.
12) Burrowing books from other students should not create uncomfortable situations for that particular student’s in day to day work.
12) Purchasing the books according to the given book list needs to be completed before the new academic year starts

Inside the school premises

1) Students are strictly expected to speak only in English Language in the school premises except the other language periods.
2) Students are not allowed to go to the in the canteen during the teaching hours.
3) Students are encouraged to bring healthy food from home.
4) Students must use the leave pass to walk out of the class for any reason.
5) Students are not allowed to enter the school ground without a teacher for any reason.
6) Students are responsible for the proper care of all furniture, computers, books and other equipment provided by the school.
7) The students’ washrooms should be properly maintained and scribbling on washroom walls is strictly prohibited.
8) Students are not allowed to bring phones, iPad, laptops, cameras, recorders , or any such devices to the school.

9) Students should not bring, share or distribute any CD/DVD, albums, autographs, and magazines in to the school premises.
10) Sharp objects such as knives, blades, broken glasses are not allowed inside the school.
11) Dangerous objects such as, wires, plugs, box of matches, lighters are not allowed inside the school.
12) Bringing or using firearms, explosive or other dangerous weapons inside the school may refer to police and recommended to
expulsion.
13) Smoking/ consumption of liquor and any kind of drugs may lead for expulsion from the school immediately.
14) Students must respect all the teachers and authorities and speak in a decent and respectful manner. Rude faces and gestures will be
strictly warned.
16) If a student needs to take a call from the reception for any emergency, the student must accompany the class teacher.
17) Strict actions will be taken for the students who misuse the school computers.
18) Bullying /verbal abuse / threatening /insulting is strictly prohibited in the school.
19) Selling /purchasing anything from a student to another student is strictly prohibited, unless the management/principal is aware and
approved it for an fund raising /academic purpose.
20) Strict action will be taken for the students found in possession of stolen property.
21) Students record book must be with each student every day to enter the school premises as that is the identity of the student of this
school.
22) Students are not allowed to loiter during the teaching hours.
23) Birthday cakes must be shared only among the class students.
24) Two students are not allowed to go together during/after school hours.
25) During class time students walking in the corridors must have a valid pass given by a teacher.
26) In case of a sick child the teacher will accompany the child for any treatments or get medicine from the reception.
27) Students are not allowed to fight with each other, any problem among the students must be forwarded to the class teacher or
sectional head immediately.
28) Students who engage in fights physically and verbally will be suspended from the school.
29) Students must bring sufficient water and food.
30) Parents are not allowed to send any parcels after students attend the school.

Outside the school premises

1) Students are not allowed to roam outside the school / tuition classes / Internet cafes/ Gaming centers in school uniform.
2) Use of any social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram mentioning the school name or school member in a ridicule’s manner,
may lead for strict action taken by the school authorities.
3) Students are not allowed to involve / participate / arrange any outside activity using the school name.
4) Any outside project/activity approved by the management/ principal should be done accompanied with an in charge teacher.
5) The school discourage students attending social functions or any other social groups.
6) Students are not allowed to meet any outsiders/ introduce the classmates to outsiders at the school main gate.
7) Students must disperse within 5 minutes of the school end time.

Examination
1) Students must attend all the examinations conducted by the school.
2) Students who cheat in any examination conducted by the school will not allowed to continue the examination from that day onwards.
3) Students must hand over the reports to the class teacher on the first day school commence after the vacation with the signature of the
parent.
4) The reports of students, who score below 40 marks for more than 3main subjects in the promotion exam, will be forwarded to the higher
authorities to decide on the promotion.
5) Leaving early during the examination days is not allowed except for a valid reason.
6) All the examination papers, answer scripts, graph sheets and equation sheets will be provided by the school for the examinations.
7) Students are not allowed to bring or use any papers / sheets brought from home for the examinations.
8) The examination will not be repeated for any student who get absent for the exam for any reason.

School Fees
1) The school will not accept any fee at the school office.
2) All payment of fees will have to be made to the bank.
3) The school will provide each child with a deposit slip and all necessary information such as name, Admission Number, grade, amount, school
account name and account number.

4) Please take this deposit slip to the bank to make the payment.
5) Please ensure that the bank enters the Admission Number of the student in the bank's system during the payment of fees.
6) Once the fee is deposited, please take a copy of the deposit slip for your reference and send the carbon copy provided by the bank, to the
school.
7) Each student is required to handover the deposit slip to the class teacher who will then provide that to the accounts department.
8) The accounts department will issue the receipt the and give it to the class teacher to send it with the child.
9) If you do not get the receipt before the term end, please call the school accounts department.
11) Due to direct deposit at the bank the school is unable to accept monthly fees or part payment.
12) All fees are to be paid to the bank before the given due date for the each term.
