Classroom Expectations
★ Be respectful of others
★ Bring all needed items to class every day including:
○ A pencil
○ A notebook and folder
○ Your workbook
○ Your chromebook
○ A calculator (if you have one)
★ Phone Policy
○ Per the student handbook: “Students are not allowed to use their personal
computers, laptops, tablets, or smart devices on district premises.” (With
the exception of passing periods and lunch time)
○ Phones will be collected at the beginning of each class period
■ During this collection, you may exchange your phone for a
calculator if needed
○ If phones are seen at any point during class, you will be sent to the office.
You may come back to class depending on the violation you receive per
administration
★ If you are absent for any reason, you are responsible for reaching out to make up
any notes, homework, quizzes, and/ or exams
Grading Scale
Your grade will consist of 2 parts:
1. Assessments - 60%
2. Coursework - 40%

Exams
★ Every test day will be clearly written on the board well in advance
★ The class period before every exam will be a review day
★ Everyone in attendance on the day of the exam will be taking it that day and must
be finished by the end of the class period
★ You will be allowed one piece of regular sized paper (front and back) on each test
to use for notes
★ Each test will be worth 100 points in the gradebook
★ No phones, chromebooks, headphones, & airpods to be used during the exam
period
○ If any of these are found, the test will be confiscated and a 0 will be given
on the test with no chance for retake
★ Exam Retakes
○ You will be allowed one exam retake per quarter
○ Prior to retaking, you must turn in a retake slip
○ The retake must be scheduled with Mrs. Thaden at least one week before
the end of the quarter
○ Your retake grade will be your final exam grade for the unit
Exit Tickets
★ Everyone will complete an exit ticket on McGraw Hill prior to leaving the
classroom each day
★ Your lowest scoring exit ticket will be no counted at the end of each unit
★ Each exit ticket will be worth 5-15 points depending on the length of the lesson
★ Exit tickets are open note/ open book but must be completed individually unless
stated otherwise
2. Coursework - 40%
Warm Ups
★ You will be given a warm up in McGraw Hill to complete every day immediately
after the bell rings
★ Each Warm Up will be worth 5 points in the grade book
★ Grading type will be subject to the teacher
Assignments
★ Every day, you will be given an assignment to work on prior to the exit ticket
★ These assignments are to be worked on during the class period but not officially
due until the BEGINNING of the following class period
★ Each assignment will be worth 5 points in the gradebook and grading type will be
subject to the teacher
★ All work must be shown in order to receive full credit
★ Assignments not turned in by the due date will be subject to the following penalty:
○ 1 day late - 4 / 5 points
○ 2 days late - 3 / 5 points
○ 3 days late - 2 / 5 points
○ 4 days late - 1 / 5 points
○ 5 days late - No credit given
Absences
★ All assignments and exit tickets are still subject to the late work policy above
★ Each day missed will give the student one extra day to complete the assignment
and exit ticket
★ All lessons will be recorded and posted by the end of the day completed
