GUI Elements

 Quick access bar: A small toolbar that is typically located at the top left-hand
corner of an application's window. It provides quick access to frequently used
commands or functions.
 Title bar: The bar located at the top of an application's window that displays the
name of the application and the name of the active file or document.
 Main Ribbon: A horizontal bar that is typically located below the title bar in an
application's window. It contains a series of tabs and groups of tools or commands
for performing various tasks within the application.
 Status bar: A bar located at the bottom of an application's window that displays
information about the current status of the application, such as the page number
or word count in a document.
 Scroll bar: A bar located on the right or bottom side of an application's window
that allows users to navigate through the content of the application by scrolling
up, down, left, or right.

 The Format Painter is a tool in Microsoft Word that allows you to quickly copy
the formatting from one section of text or object to another. With the Format
Painter, you can apply the same font, size, color, alignment, and other
formatting styles to multiple parts of your document without having to
manually format each one.
Font Group

 Font style (use change the text style)


 Font size(use change the text size)
 Bold (refers to a text formatting option that makes the selected text appear
darker and thicker than the surrounding text. )

 Increase and decrease font size
Font Group

 Atelic: There is no formatting option called "Atelic" in MS Word. If you meant


"italic", it is a text formatting option that slants the selected text to the right. To
make text italic, you can select the text and then click the "Italic" button in the
"Home" tab of the ribbon menu or press the "Ctrl + I" keyboard shortcut.

 Underline: Underline is a text formatting option that adds a horizontal line


below the selected text. To underline text, you can select the text and then click
the "Underline" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon menu, or press the "Ctrl +
U" keyboard shortcut.
Font Group

 Strike through: Strike through is a text formatting option that adds a horizontal
line through the middle of the selected text. To add strike through to text, you
can select the text and then click the "Strikethrough" button in the "Home" tab of
the ribbon menu, or press the "Ctrl + D" keyboard shortcut.

 Highlight: Highlight is a text formatting option that adds a colored background


to the selected text. To highlight text, you can select the text and then click the
"Text Highlight Color" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon menu.

 Text color: Text color is a text formatting option that changes the color of the
selected text. To change the text color, you can select the text and then click the
"Font Color" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon menu.
Font Group

 Increase and decrease font size: These are text formatting options that
increase or decrease the size of the selected text. To increase or decrease the
font size, you can select the text and then click the "Font Size" drop-down
button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon menu and choose a size, or press the
"Ctrl + Shift + >" or "Ctrl + Shift + <" keyboard shortcut to increase or decrease
the font size.
 Case change: Case change is a text formatting option that changes the
capitalization of the selected text. To change the case of text, you can select the
text and then click the "Change Case" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon
menu. And select the option in case change dropdown.

Paragraph

 Bullets points: Bullets points are a text formatting option that adds a bullet
symbol before each item in a list. To add bullets points, you can select the text
and then click the "Bullets" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon menu or
press the "Ctrl + Shift + L" keyboard shortcut.

 Numbering: Numbering is a text formatting option that adds a number before


each item in a list. To add numbering, you can select the text and then click the
"Numbering" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon menu or press the "Ctrl +
Shift + L" keyboard shortcut.
 Alignments: Alignments are text formatting options that control the position of
text within a document. You can align text to the left, center, right or justify
(evenly space text between margins) using the "Align Left", "Center", "Align
Right" and "Justify" buttons in the "Home" tab of the ribbon menu.
Paragraph

 Line and paragraph spacing: Line and paragraph spacing are text formatting
options that control the spacing between lines and paragraphs. You can change
the line spacing using the "Line Spacing" drop-down button in the "Home" tab of
the ribbon menu, and you can change the paragraph spacing using the
"Paragraph Spacing" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon menu.
 Shading: Shading is a text formatting option that adds a background color to
the selected text or paragraph. To add shading, you can select the text or
paragraph and then click the "Shading" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon
menu.
 Border: Borders are a text formatting option that adds a border around the
selected text or paragraph. To add a border, you can select the text or
paragraph and then click the "Borders" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon
menu.
Styles

 Styles in MS Word are pre-defined sets of formatting options that can be


applied to text and paragraphs in a document. Styles are used to ensure
consistency in the formatting of a document, and they can save time by
allowing you to apply multiple formatting options at once.
