the rest of the movie. Moreover, by panning to Forrest as he runs into the field, it gives a sense of a rising action going even further from the climax

The editing of the scene contributed to my understanding of Forrest Gump. By slowing the speed of the point where the braces break off, it highlights the moment as dramatic furthermore enhanced by
cutting to Forrest’s gleeful reaction to his freedom. For the first time in his life, he is free of the obstacle that impeded much of his childhood.
