COLLEGE OBJECTIVES

The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management is intended to equip students with competencies that are needed to execute operational
tasks and management functions in food production (culinary), accommodation, food and beverage service, tourism, planning and product development,
events planning, transportation services, travel and tour operations and other emerging sectors of the hospitality and tourism industry.

COLLEGE GOAL

1.​ To produce graduates who are globally competitive, and whose personal discipline is guided by spiritual and moral values;

2.​ To offer programs reflective of and responsive to contemporary needs, making use of innovative interdisciplinary approaches that

IV. COURSE/SUBJECT DESCRIPTION

The Fundamentals of Accounting will cover the basic accounting procedures used to operate the business. Students will become acquainted with the principles of
double-entry bookkeeping including the preparation of financial statements of a single proprietorship, partnership and corporate business.

V. COURSE OBEJCTIVES

At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

1.​ Demonstrate an understanding on the definition, nature, functions, history of accounting;


2.​ Identify and describe the branches of accounting, types of business (advantages and disadvantages), forms of business, business documents, users and uses of
accounting information, accounting concepts and principles;
3.​ Solve problems to prepare transaction equation, accounting equation, T-accounts;
4.​ Demonstrate the ability to apply the rules of debit and credit in recording business transactions;
5.​ Prepare journals, ledger, trial balances, worksheets, adjusting entries, closing entries, reversing entries.

The Fundamentals of Accounting will cover the basic accounting procedures used to operate the business. Students will become

VIII. COURSE REQUIRMENTS 7 EVALUATIVE MEASURES

1.​ Passing the quizzes, term examinations, problem exercise/activities, and submission of assignments;
2.​ Active participation in class discussion.
3.​ Oral individual reporting.
4.​ Regular and punctual attendance in classes.
5.​ Maximum number of absences must be 20% of the total number of hours
6.​ Three late is equivalent to one hour absent.
7.​ Arrive 15 minutes from schedule time is considered late.
