1.Executive Summary
Our project aimed to improve health, well-being, and community support in Larkana and its
nearby villages through various impactful activities. We organized plantation drives to promote
environmental sustainability and create greener spaces. As part of our commitment to supporting
underprivileged groups, we visited Sweet Homes, providing care and gifts to children without
parental support, and distributed items to special children to bring joy and encouragement. To
promote hygiene practices, we conducted handwashing sessions, emphasizing the importance of
cleanliness in preventing diseases.

Additionally, we hosted free medical camps where certified doctors offered consultations,
medical check-ups, and distributed free medicines to ensure access to healthcare for those in
need. To address food insecurity, we carried out food donations, including distributing ration
(grocery packages) to families struggling to meet their daily needs. These combined efforts
focused on improving physical and emotional well-being, fostering a sense of care, and
addressing the immediate and long-term needs of the community.

2.Introduction
2.1 Background

Health is essential for human potential, as it directly influences personal and community
development. In the absence of good health, access to education, productivity, and overall
quality of life are severely restricted. Our team recognizes that healthcare should be accessible to
all, as it plays a crucial role in enabling individuals to live fulfilling and productive lives. In our
community, however, many underprivileged populations face significant barriers to accessing
healthcare, which limits their ability to maintain good health. This project is driven by our
commitment to reducing these barriers, raising awareness about health and wellness, and
providing essential medical resources to those in need. Through this initiative, we aim to
improve health outcomes and foster a more vibrant, productive society.

2.2 Objectives of the Project:

1. To improve the health and well-being of individuals in Larkana and surrounding villages by
providing essential resources such as food, healthcare, and hygiene education.

2. To alleviate food insecurity by distributing grocery packages (rashan) to 500

individuals, ensuring access to basic nutrition for underprivileged families.

3. To promote environmental sustainability by organizing plantation drives that enhance

green spaces and raise awareness about ecological responsibility.

4
4. To provide emotional and social support to vulnerable groups, including children in
Sweet Homes and special children, by offering care and gifts that encourage their well-being.

5. To raise awareness about hygiene practices, particularly handwashing, to reduce the

spread of diseases and promote better public health.

6. To assist elderly community members by providing blankets and other support,

ensuring their comfort and well-being.

7. To enhance access to healthcare by organizing free medical camps in Larkana and

nearby villages, offering consultations, check-ups, and free medicines to underserved
populations.

8. To foster a sense of unity and community care, ensuring that both immediate and long-
term needs of the community are met in a sustainable and impactful manner.

2.3 Relevance to Community Needs:

This project is directly aligned with the critical needs of the community in Larkana and its
surrounding villages. The region faces significant challenges related to food insecurity, lack of
accessible healthcare, limited sanitation awareness, and insufficient support for vulnerable
populations. Many individuals in this area experience economic hardship, and their access to
basic services such as healthcare and hygiene education is severely constrained.

The distribution of grocery packages addresses the urgent need for food security, ensuring that
500 individuals receive essential items to meet their daily nutritional requirements. Medical
services, which are often inaccessible to underprivileged communities in the region, were
provided through free medical camps that offered essential healthcare, including consultations,
check-ups, and medicines.

5
Handwashing sessions targeted the importance of hygiene in preventing disease outbreaks,
helping improve public health awareness. Support for children in Sweet Homes and special
children served to address emotional and social needs, creating a sense of care and inclusion for
vulnerable groups. Additionally, the donation of blankets to the elderly provides physical
comfort, ensuring that the elderly receive adequate care and attention.

In addressing these multifaceted needs, the project is highly relevant, as it not only provides
immediate relief but also aims to promote long-term improvement in health, well-being, and
community resilience.

3. Project Description
3.1 Scope of the Project
The scope of this community service project covers a broad range of activities aimed at
improving the health, well-being, and social conditions of underprivileged individuals in
Larkana and its surrounding villages. This project involved the distribution of grocery packages
(rashan) to 500 individuals, focusing on the residents of Pilot School Larkana and nearby areas.
Additionally, the project sought to promote environmental sustainability through plantation
drives, creating greener and more pleasant spaces in the community.

The project also addressed the needs of vulnerable groups by providing gifts and support to
children at Sweet Home and distributing items to special children to uplift their spirits. Hygiene
education was another crucial component, where handwashing sessions were conducted to raise
awareness about cleanliness and disease prevention. The elderly were also supported through the
donation of blankets to ensure warmth and comfort.

In the healthcare sector, the project facilitated two free medical camps—one in Larkana and
another in a nearby village—offering consultations, medical check-ups, and free medicines to
those in need. Furthermore, a food donation drive was organized at Chandka Hospital (CMC)
Larkana, where essential food items were provided to patients and their families .These activities
were designed to address both immediate and long-term needs of the community, fostering a

6
sense of unity, care, and support while enhancing the physical, emotional, and social well-being
of residents.

8
Key stakeholders involved in this community service project were crucial in
supporting the activities and ensuring their successful implementation:

1. Community Members: The primary beneficiaries of the project, including families who

received grocery packages, children in Sweet Home and special children’s homes, patients at

medical camps, and the elderly.

2. Al Khidmat Foundation Larkana: This NGO played a pivotal role in two significant

project activities:

• Medical Camp: Al Khidmat Foundation facilitated a free medical camp in Larkana, where

certified medical professionals provided free consultations, check-ups, and treatments for

common diseases, including vaccinations for malaria and other conditions.

• Grocery Distribution: Al Khidmat Foundation also collaborated in distributing grocery

packages (rashan) to 500 individuals at Pilot School Larkana, helping alleviate food insecurity in

the community.

9
4.Methodology
The methodology for implementing this community service project was carefully structured to
ensure effective execution and measurable impact. A combination of direct outreach,
collaboration with local organizations, and hands-on activities were employed to address the
needs of the community. Below is a breakdown of the approach used:

4.1 Approach and Implementation

The project was implemented through a combination of community engagement and strategic
partnerships, focusing on direct assistance and collaborative efforts with local organizations.

1. Community Engagement: Direct assistance was provided to individuals through the

distribution of grocery packages (Rashan) to 500 families and food boxes to 100 patients and
their families at CMC Hospital, ensuring immediate nutritional support.

2. Collaboration with Al Khidmat Foundation: In partnership with Al Khidmat Foundation,

we organized free medical camps in Larkana and a nearby village, where medical professionals
offered check-ups, vaccinations, and treatment for common diseases. We also carried out a
grocery distribution at Pilot School Larkana, reaching 500 people in need.

3. Educational and Environmental Activities: To promote environmental sustainability, we

replanted 30+ trees in community areas. Hygiene awareness was emphasized through
handwashing sessions for children, where proper hygiene practices were taught, and proper
guidance and lectures as provided on how to use people hand wash and sanitizers .

These activities were carefully planned and executed in collaboration with local stakeholders to
ensure they met the specific needs of the community. The project’s implementation was
monitored closely to ensure that the resources and support were provided effectively.

10
4.2 Tools and Techniques Employed
The following tools and techniques were used to efficiently execute and monitor the activities of
the community service project:

1. Collaboration and Partnerships:

• Partnerships with Local Organizations: Collaboration with Al Khidmat Foundation was a

key tool in organizing medical camps and grocery distributions. Their established network and
expertise in community service facilitated the smooth execution of activities.

• Coordination with Local Schools and Hospitals: Working closely with Pilot School
Larkana, Mehran School Larkana and CMC Hospital helped identify target beneficiaries and
ensure that the distribution of resources was conducted effectively.

2 Resource Allocation:

• Distribution Channels: For the distribution of grocery packages (rashan) and food
boxes, well-organized distribution channels were created in collaboration with local institutions
to ensure fair and efficient delivery to 500 families and 100 patients and their families.

• Gift and Essentials Procurement: Gifts for children and essentials like hand wash and
sanitizers were procured and organized for distribution during dedicated sessions.

3. Educational Sessions:

• Hygiene Education: Interactive hand washing sessions were conducted with children
using simple techniques, such as visual aids and demonstrations, to effectively teach them the
importance of personal hygiene.

11
• Environmental Workshops: Small groups of community members and school children
were engaged in plantation activities, where environmental sustainability was discussed
alongside the practical activity of replanting trees.

4. Monitoring and Feedback:

. Feedback Collection: As part of our qualitative research approach, we engaged directly with
beneficiaries during the medical camps, food distribution, and other activities to gather their
feedback and understand their satisfaction levels. Instead of formal feedback forms, we
conducted informal conversations and asked targeted questions to evaluate whether they were
happy with the services provided. We inquired about their specific needs, any additional support
they required, and their overall impressions of our efforts. This method allowed us to collect
valuable insights into the community’s needs and ensure our initiatives were aligned with their
expectations.

• Observational Monitoring: Regular observation during the activities allowed for real-
time adjustments and ensured that resources were being distributed to the most in-need
individuals.

2. Documentation and Reporting:

• Progress Tracking: Detailed records were kept of the resources distributed, individuals
served, and activities completed. This helped track the progress of the project and allowed for
effective reporting to stakeholders.

We chose a qualitative approach for this report because it helps us understand the real challenges
people face in health and well-being. Instead of just focusing on numbers, it allows us to explore
personal experiences, stories, and opinions. This approach provides deeper insights into why
problems exist and how they affect individuals in their daily lives. It also helps us understand the
cultural and social factors influencing health practices in the community. By using qualitative
research, we can create solutions that are more practical, relevant, and tailored to the specific
needs of the people we are trying to help.

Community Involvement: The direct participation helps to raise awareness about

environmental, hygiene, and health issues.
