GENERAL RULES
● One participant/team shall represent the department.
● Departments with two shifts may send one representation each.
● Vulgarity of any form will lead to disqualification of the participant/team
● Any expression offending, the sentiments of religion/gender/community/language will
lead to immediate disqualification.
● There should be no reference to staff / management / council shall be made in the
artistic expressions.
● Soundtrack and music files must be submitted as per
● schedule specified by the organisers.
● Costume approval must be obtained from the dean of women students before the event
date.

Main building model

Guesstimate it

● One team per department ( a team of 2 will be allowed )


● Two rounds will be conducted ROUND - 1 (Quiz)(theme will be mentioned) 14 questions
● ROUND - 2(different guesstimate questions will be asked and the team has to justify
their stands)
● Time limit : 10 minutes will be provided for discussion and write estimates in paper and 3
minutes for explanation will be given.
● A rough paper will be provided for the participants and a fair copy of it should be
submitted.
● Paper and pen will be provided for estimations
Usage of electronic devices, calculators and mobile
phones are prohibited during the competition.
Judging criteria : Accuracy and the justification/ reasoning provided .

Future director

● Individual event
● One participant per department
● Time limit : 5 + 1 minutes
● Participants will present their unique movie concept to a panel of "producers" (judges).
● Participants need to highlight key elements like one line, plot, characters, tone, and
commercial viability.
● This will be followed by a rebuttal round by the panel.

Judging criteria : Originality, Clarity, Budget Feasibility

Treasure Hunt

The goal of this game is to lead the seekers through a set of clues that takes them around the
campus to find the treasure
● Two rounds will be conducted ROUND - 1 (Quiz)(theme will be mentioned) ROUND -
2(Treasure Hunt)
● There will be 3 participants per team
● Clues are to be found in a particular order
● Use of electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited
● Cheating or malpractice will lead to immediate disqualification

Monologue

● No of Participants per Entry - One Participant per department


● Monologue must adhere to the theme
● Language: English and Tamil
● Each participant will be given 4 minutes to perform
● Only 1 round will be conducted.
● Targeting or pointing out any individual or religion and any obscene content will lead to
disqualification.
● Participants must report at the venue 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the
event to avoid penalization/dis-qualification.
● The judge's decision is final

Art marathon
● The event consists of three events that needs to be completed in a time frame of 3 hours
(no breaks)
● Poster making
● Junk art
● Face painting
● Three participants per team
● One team per department
● Bring your own materials needed for all three events
● points will be awarded based on creativity,originality,effective use of materials and overall
appeal
● Participants are required to keep their stations clean
● Ready or semi finished model or material are not allowed
● No electronic devices will be allowed during the three hours

Face painting
● THEME:Elements of Nature
● One from the dual team must be the model no outside members allowed
● Usage of embellishments is not allowed

Poster making
● THEME: Cinematic Universe
● Poster must be in A3 dimensions
● No digital posters
Junk art
● Do not bring any new material except adhesive paint and other basic decorative items
● Bring only used or recyclable materials
● The material would be rejected if not found to be a waste product or second hand item

Battle it out

● One participant per department


● 1 minute of freestyle must be shown.
● Top 8 will be selected for 1v1 rounds, then the top 4 will head to finals.
● The DJ will play the music.
● It is an open style battle, each dancer must adapt best to the music using any style of
their choice.
Judging Criteria : Adaptability, Creativity and Originality, Expression, Technical Quality

Title event

● This is an offstage event.


● Winners of the flagged events(Shipwreck,Channel surfing,Potpourri & Adzap) will qualify
for the title event.
● Only one title will be awarded.
● Time limit will strictly be followed.
● Vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
● Judge’s decision will be final and binding.

Lights Camera Action ( LCA)

● It is a group event
● Only 1 team per department is allowed.
● Time limit is 6 minutes (2 minutes for stage set up and 4 minutes for performance)
● Strictly adhere to the time limit. Exceeding the time limit, will lead to deduction of scores.
● A team can consist of 6-12 participants (Including the spotlight in-charge).
● The teams are required to depict a movie according to their creativity (Spoof/Depiction)
and the movie name should not be disclosed throughout the performance.
● Vulgarity of any sort (costumes, scenes, songs, dialogues,dance steps) will lead to
immediate disqualification.
● The organizers will not provide any makeup material or properties for the performance.
● Spotlight will be provided for the event
● Voice-over can be used only in the form of recordings.
● Only Tamil movies should be depicted
● Bodysuit is mandatory.
● Judge’s decision will be final and binding.
● The audio track should be submitted to [email protected] must be only
in the form of a pen drive/USB, 2 days before the event

Dual Adaptune

● Two participants per department.


● Songs of any language can be played continuously at random and dancers should
attempt to match the music.
● Dancers are expected to be in sync with each other.
● Top 8 teams will be eligible for onstage.
● Judging Criteria: Adaptation, Dance Moves, Expressions, Stage Coverage, Coordination

STREET PLAY

● It is a group event.
● Only 1 team per department is allowed
● A team can consist of 6-13 participants including instrumentalists.
● Time limit : 10 minutes for the play and 5 minutes for stage set up
● Only one language should be used during the entire play.
● The language used should either be English or Tamil.
● Usage of any electronic devices is prohibited.
● Vulgarity or obscenity in any sort will lead to immediate disqualification
● No inappropriate comments should be made that could hurt a community’s sentiments
pertaining to their religion,sex,race,culture or heritage during the play.
● Bodysuit is mandatory
● The organizers will not provide any makeup materials or properties for the performance.

Judging criteria: Content and script, acting skills, team coordination, props and costumes.

LIGHT MUSIC:

● One department can be represented by a team of 6-8 participants.


● Any regional song can be performed.
● English songs are not permitted.
● Independent Music will be prioritized(Original Composition).
● Time : 4 minutes performance + 3 minutes setup time.
● Medleys are allowed.
● Electronic synthesizers and modulators are not allowed
● Instruments should be brought by the participants. If needed the drum kit will be
provided.
● Creativity in using instruments will be appreciated.
Judging criteria: Vocal quality and pitch, Overall coordination, Stage presence and rhythm

WESTERN MUSIC:
● 6 to 8 participants.
● Only English songs are permitted.
● Own Compositions and exploration of various music genres will be given priority .
● 4 mins performance time + 3 mins set up time.
● Using one's own creativity with personal instrument will be appreciated

FOLK DANCE :

● 8 to 13 participants.
● 2-4 mins performance time + 2 min for set up
● The audio track should be submitted to [email protected] at least two
days before the prelims round.
● Live music will be prioritized.
● Usage of Properties are allowed.
● Folk songs from films are not allowed.
● Costume & property approval should be approved by the Dean of women students 3
days prior to the event.
● The costume approval letter should be signed by the Dean of women students & should
be produced on the day of the event.
● No penalty for the use of fiber drums.

THEME DANCE :

● Departments may be represented by a team of 8 to 15 participants.


● 3 mins performance time + 2 mins set up time.
● Performance must be based on the ovation theme “VORTEX”
● Presentations will be judged based on creativity,choreography & synchronization.
● Sound tracks must be submitted only in the form of a pen drive/USB, 2 days before the
event.
● The team can dance to songs of any language except English.
● Any form of vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
● Costume & property approval should be approved by the Dean of women students 3
days prior to the event.
● The costume approval letter should be signed by the Dean of women students & should
be produced on the day of the event.

MIME :

● 5 to 10 participants(including musicians)
● 5 mins performance time + 2 mins set up time.
● Performance must be based on the ovation theme "VORTEX"
● Live music will be prioritized.
● Sound effects and music tracks are permitted.
● Voice tracks are not permitted.
● Vulgarity Of any form is strictly prohibited.

120 SECONDS TO FAME:

● One participant from each department.


● Dancing & singing is strictly prohibited..
● Any form of vulgarity will lead to immediate disqualification.
● 2 mins ( 120 secs) of performance time will be allotted per participant
● Example: Mimicry, Silambam, Martial arts,Painting etc.

CREATIVE WRITING: ( ENGLISH & TAMIL)


● 2 participants from each department (One participant per language)
● Topic will be given on the spot.
● The write ups can be either a story, poem or an essay.
● English and Tamil would be divided as 2 categories and different judges will be allocated
for the same.

IPL AUCTION:

● It's a team event (3 members per team).


● One team per department per shift.
● Prelims will be based on a cricket quiz.(20 questions - 20 mins).
● Finals-Auction (2 hours ).
● Usage of mobile phones are prohibited during the event.
● Any type of vulgarity will not be entertained and will lead to disqualification.
● The results announced by the judges will be final.

DEBATE : TAMIL & ENGLISH:

● Team of 2 participants from each department.


● Topic will be given prior to the start of the event.
● Department vs department format will be followed.
● Vulgarity will lead to immediate disqualification.
● Insensitive reference to any caste/community/individual/ genders are strictly prohibited.
● Tamil and English debates will be conducted as different categories judged by different
adjudicators.

SHARK TANK:

● This is a team event consisting of minimum 2-3


● Participants per team.
● Participants are required to come up with a unique business plan to pitch their product
or provide service to the judges on the same.
● Participants must present a PPT of their business plan
● Time limit: 5 minutes for presentation & 2 minutes for Q/A.
● Insensitive reference to any caste/community/individual/ genders are strictly prohibited.
● Vulgarity will lead to immediate disqualification.
● Decision of the judges will be final & binding.

SHIPWRECK
● One participant per department.
● Preparation time of 1 min will be given.
● Characters may be achievers or personalities from any field.
● Participants must argue with real life incidents.
● Offensive slurs/ blatant vulgarity, shaming in any form is strictly prohibited and will lead
to disqualification. ​

POTPOURRI:

● 1 team per department.


● 3 members per team.
● Events consist of 3 levels - Block and Tackle, Spin a yarn and a Surprise event.
● Aggregated scores will be taken as final.
● Insensitive reference to any caste/community/individual/ genders are strictly prohibited.
● Vulgarity will lead to immediate disqualification.

RAP BATTLE:

● 1 participant per department.


● Topic will be assigned on the spot.
● Stage 1 : Own composition - 1 to 2 mins of performance. Audio track must be
submitted.
● Stage 2 : Face off - Top 8 participants will freestyle and be selected for this stage
● Judging criteria is based on; originality, flow, performance,content.
● Audio track (for stage 2) will be played on spot.
● Use of foul language should be avoided.

ADAPTUNE:

● 1 team per department.


● Only 2 participants per team.
● Obscenity of any form in performance or costumes will lead to direct disqualification.
● Participants must be dressed in freestyle costume.
● Music will be played on the spot and the team members will have to adapt to the tune
and dance.
● Insensitive reference to any caste/community/individual/ genders are strictly prohibited.
● Vulgarity will lead to immediate disqualification.

CHANNEL SURFING:

● Channels to be portrayed will be given by the judges on the spot.


● Departments may be represented by a team of 4 to 6 participants.
● Points will be awarded based on spontaneity, humor & originality.
● Insensitive reference to any caste/community/individual/ genders are strictly prohibited
● Vulgarity will lead to immediate disqualification.

ADZAP

● 5 to 6 participants.
● 4 mins performance time + I min preparation time.
● Product will be given on spot.
● No props are allowed.
● No form of vulgarity is allowed.
● Judges' decision is final.

WESTERN DANCE

● Departments may be represented by a team of 8 to 15 participants.


● 3 mins performance time + 2 mins set up time.
● Presentations will be judged based on creativity,choreography & synchronization.
● Sound tracks must be submitted only in the form of a pen drive/USB, 2 days before the
event.
● No regional/film songs are allowed.
● Any form of vulgarity will lead to disqualification.
● Costume & property approval should be approved by the Dean of women students 3
days prior to the event.
● The costume approval letter should be signed by the Dean of women students & should
be produced on the day of the event.

PHOTOGRAPHY

• One participant from each department.


• Photographs must be taken only within the college campus using a professional camera.
• Topic will be assigned 24 hours prior to submission.
• Any form of digital editing of the pictures will lead to direct disqualification.

SHORT FILM MAKING

● Departments may be represented by a team of 7 to 12 participants.


● Time duration of the short film is 6 to 10 minutes.
● Genres permitted: dramatic, emotional, social message, thriller, comedy.
● The topic will be given one week prior to the event.
● Vulgarity and views affecting caste, gender, religion in script, acting, and dialogue
delivery will lead to disqualification.
● Short film should be submitted via Google Forms.
● The short film must carry subtitles in English.

REEL MAKING

● Departments may be represented by a team of 2 participants.


● Duration of the reel should be 1 minute.
● Reel must be based on the ovation theme “VORTEX”
● The reel should be made on our campus.
● Insensitive reference to any caste/ community/ individual/ genders are strictly
prohibited.
● If any form of vulgarity in Content and Dressing is found in the video it would lead to
direct disqualification.

MEME CREATION

● Departments may be represented by a team of 2 participants.


● Points will be awarded based on humor, spontaneity and originality.
● Topics will be announced prior to the event.
● Any form of vulgarity and views affecting caste, gender and religion will lead to
disqualification.
● No memes referring to the Staff, College Management or the Council.
