 Why Learning English is Important?

Nowdays, people are dedicating time to learn English. Many countries include English in
their school subject and students are starting to learninng English. But, what is the main
purpose of studying English? In fact, learning Englisih in everyday life has its own benefits.
For an example, when we are going to travel or vacation abroad, mastering English is of
course very necessary and will be very useful for communicating. Not only that,
understanding English will help us to understand the lessons given by teacher or lecturer. We
can take a lot of references in English to support learning that may not be included in the
Indonesian language references. It cannot be denied thet English is the language of science,
the language of technology, the language of business instruction among non-native speakers
of English, teh language of the Olympics and international conference
language.(Rintaningrum, n.d.)

However, there are still many people who still don’t understand the importance of
learning English in the present era with industrial revolution 4 which relies heavily on
technology which is starting to develop rapidly. Honestly, as a student from an engineering
college majoring in biology, I feel that English is very important in learning. So, in this
article, we will discuss about Why learning English is Important?

1. English is a global language

English is the language of the world because we need a language that is easy
for everyone to use. English its considered a relatively easy language to learn.
2. Studying English can help to get a job

English is the language of other job and activity. For example English is teh
language of science, aviation, diplomacy, tourism, computer, and other. Knowing and
learning English can make people to increase the skill, so we can getting a good job in
national and international company.

3. Learning English can help people to meet and communicating each other

 English is the international language and is used as a mutually known
language by people all around the world. This means that when we can master in
English, we can communicate easily.

4. Good in English will make travelling easy

Every people certain to need travelling. Travelling can make someone relax
after work hard everyday. English language skills will be very useful when we are
travelling and want to communicate with people from other countries. Indonesia have
many various tourist destinations that are frequently visited by foreign tourist. When
we meet many foreigners in that place, we can communicate easily through the use of
English expecially when we go abroad, we must need to ask and help with foreign
people in that countries.

5. With English, we can study all over the world

Since English is spoken in so many different countries there are thousands of

schools and universityaround the world that over programmes in English. If we speak
good at English, we have a lot oppurtinities to find an appropriate school or
university and course to suit we needs.

6. English is important in bussiness and technology industry

English is a particulary important language in technological industry and

bussiness. When we search many content in internet and we don’t find it in the local
language, we can search in English. As well as this, some of the worlds largest tech
companies are based in English language and speaking. Besides the technological
industries, English is also important in business. Whatever type of work you are as an
a student, employee, doctor, teacher, and many other English is considered to be one
of the most important skill that must be knowing and learning because with English
we can improve skills established cooperation with greater people.

7. English will give access to multiple cultures

Good knowledge in English will allow people to access many films, music,
books, and other from more than a hundres countries around the world. Not to
mention the fact that numerous literaturs from accross the world are writed and
translated in English language. Few experiences will make we grow as a person more

 than learning the values, habits and way of life in a culture thet is different from
yours.

8. English is language of science

If you want to learn, speak, or publish with authority in the science, you must
learn English. Student of science around the world must learning English along with
their other subject in university. In many case, their other class subject are taught in
English or make an English text book. Science research is primarily published in
English, and more abstracts in research are written in English too. With English, we
can study and doing research with different refference and can make our research or
article more interesting, actual, and in accordance with the current situation.

Learning English in life is very beneficial, but until now there are still many who
think that learning English is very difficult. Another reason why learning English is difficult
is how to hear, speak, and about grammar writing. For students, learning English is very
important (Rintaningrum, 2018). Students can learn English easily with a good facilities. For
example, schools or universities can provide supporting books, hold competitions related to
English, and facilite students with appropriate groups or extracurricular activities.
