 Ask students on how many possibility the chance that they will win the lotto jackpot prize?

C. Presentation of the Lesson


 Present the lesson.
 Present the lesson objectives.

1. Activity
 Group students into four.
 Each group has a given scenario. (ex. Choosing your course in college but your parents has a
different course they want you to enrol.)
 The group will make a decision in a given problem.
 They will list down all the possible outcomes for decision they’ve choose.
 Give five minutes each group to finish the task.

2. Analysis
 Presentation of the output.
 Choose a representative from each group.
 Ask the following questions:
How they you come up with your answer?
If you decide to have a final answer, what it would be? Why?

3. Abstraction
 Definition of Statistics and Probability.
 Define random variables and its types.
Discrete
Continuous
 From each definitions ask students to give an example of discrete and continuous variables.
The number of students in a classroom. DISCRETE

 Give example on how to find the values of a random variable.
4. Application
 Let students to answer each item whether discrete or continuous variable.
1. Age of your mother
2. Weight of the students
3. Number of marbles on a jar
4. Maximum passengers of the bus.
5. Number of population in a community
 Let students explain on how they come up with their answer to each item.

 In a ¼ sheet of paper, write the possible outcomes of an event of throwing a single dice,
obtaining the following event:
