Work out: show all the necessary steps!

1. The mean of 200 items was found to be 40. Later on it was discovered that two items were
wrongly read as 92 and 8 instead of 192 and 88 respectively. Find the correct mean. [1 Pt]
2. A student`s final grades in mathematics, physics, English & hygiene are respectively. 82, 86,
90, & 70. If the respective credits received for these course are 3, 5, 3 & 1, determine an
appropriate average grade. [1 Pt]
3. The student took 3 courses. She recorded 87, 77 & 86. Respectively for first, second and
third course. If the weight for second is three times the first course and the weight for the
third is twice the second course. What will be her average score for the three courses? [1 Pt]
4. Given the sets 2, 5, 8, 11, 14 and 2, 8, 14. Find: [Each 0.5 Pt]
a) The mean of the combined (pooled) sets.
b) The variance the combined sets.
5. The following table gives the weekly wage of employees of a small firm at city X. Then,
determined the following.

6. The following data are on the number of minutes to travel from home to work place for a group of automobile
workers: 28, 25, 48, 37, 41, 19, 32, 26, 16, 23, 23, 29, 36, 31, 26, 21, 32, 25, 31, 43, 35, 42, 38, 33 and 28.

a) Compute class boundaries for the FD
b) Compute the less than cumulative frequencies
c) Find the relative frequencies
d) Construct histogram & frequency polygon
