1. Safety andGeneral Information

ABOUT THIS MANUAL


Purpose
This manual describes the assembly, installation, operation and troubleshooting of this unit. Please read this
manual carefully before installations and operations. Keep this manual for future reference.

Scope
This manual provides safety and installation guidelines as well as information on
tools and wiring.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: This chapter contains important safety and operating instructions. Read and keep this manual for future
reference.
1. Before using the unit, read all instructions and cautionary markings on the unit, the batteries and all appropriate sections
of this manual.
2. CAUTION --To reduce risk of injury, charge only deep-cycle lead acid type rechargeable batteries. Other types of
batteries may burst, causing personal injury and damage.
3. Do not disassemble the unit. Take it to a qualified service center when service or repair is required. Incorrect re-
assembly may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.
4. To reduce risk of electric shock, disconnect all wirings before attempting any maintenance or cleaning. Turning off the
unit will not reduce this risk.
5. CAUTION – Only qualified personnel can install this device with battery.
6. NEVER charge a frozen battery.
7. For optimum operation of this inverter/charger, please follow required spec to select appropriate cable size. It’s very
important to correctly operate this inverter/charger.
8. Be very cautious when working with metal tools on or around batteries. A potential risk exists to drop a tool to spark
or short circuit batteries or other electrical parts and could cause an explosion.
9. Please strictly follow installation procedure when you want to disconnect AC or DC terminals. Please refer to
INSTALLATION section of this manual for the details.
10. One piece of 150A fuse is provided as over-current protection for the battery supply.
11. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS -This inverter/charger should be connected to a permanent grounded wiring system.
Be sure to comply with local requirements and regulation to install this inverter.
12. NEVER cause AC output and DC input short circuited. Do NOT connect to the mains when DC input short circuits.
13. Warning!! Only qualified service persons are able to service this device. If errors still persist after following
troubleshooting table, please send this inverter/charger back to local dealer or service center for maintenance.
14. WARNING: Because this inverter is isolated, only three types of PV modules are acceptable: single crystalline, poly
crystalline with class A-rated and CIGS modules. To avoid any malfunction, do not connect any PV modules with
possible current leakage to the inverter. For example, grounded PV modules will cause current leakage to the inverter.
When using CIGS modules, please be sure NO grounding.
15. CAUTION: It’s requested to use PV junction box with surge protection. Otherwise, it will cause damage on inverter
when lightning occurs on PV modules

1.1 General Information:


Please read the "safety precautions" carefully before installing and using this product to ensure correct and
safeinstallation and use.Please keep this manualproperly.
Soslarinverter must be installed, tested and maintained by an engineer authorized by the manufacturer or its

agent,otherwise it is possible to endanger personal safety and cause equipment failure. The damage to solar
invertercausedthereonisexcludedfromthe warranty.
Under no circumstances shall equipment structure or components be dismantled or changed without
themanufacturer's permission, otherwise the damage to solar invertercaused thereby shall not be covered
by thewarranty.
Local regulations and laws shall be followed when using equipment. The safety precautions in the
manualonlysupplementthelocalsafetyregulations.
Due to product version upgrade or other reasons, the content of this document will be updated from time
totime. Unless otherwise agreed, this document is used only as a guide, and all statements, information
andrecommendationsin this documentdonotconstitute anywarranty,express or implied.

1.2 Solar inverter Safety:


Before installing the equipment, wear insulating protective clothing, use insulating appliances, and
removeconductiveobjects such asjewelryandwatchestoavoidelectric shock orburns.
The operating environment has a certain impact on the service life and reliability of solar inverter. The
environmentalrequirementssetinthemanualmustbefollowed when usingand storing theequipment.
Avoidusingtheequipmentindirectsunlight, rain, orinenvironmentswithelectrifieddust.
When placing solar inverter, maintain a safe distance around it to ensure ventilation. During operation of the
system,donotblock the vent.
Donotallowliquidsorotherforeignobjects to enterintothesolar inverter cabinet.
Before using solar inverter, check whether the local distribution characteristics are consistent with the
information oftheproductnameplate.
As solar inverter is a large leakage current device, it is not recommended to install breakers with leakage
protectionfunction.
Before connecting solar inverter, please further confirm whether the switch connecting the power supply of
the solar invertermainsinput/bypass powersupplyand the mains powerare disconnected.
When it is required to move or rewire solar inverter, make sure to disconnect AC input power supply,
battery andother inputs, and solar inverter is fully powered down (more than 5min) before carrying out
the correspondingoperation, otherwise there may still be power in the port and inside of the equipment,
and it is possible tocausea risk ofelectric shock.
Before powering on, please confirm the correct grounding, and check wire connection and battery polarity
toensure correct connection. In order to ensure personal safety and the normal use of solar inverter,solar
inverter shallbereliablygrounded before use.
Solarinvertercan be used for resistive and capacitive (such as computers), resistive and micro inductive load,
not for pure capacitive and inductive load (such as motors, air conditioners and
copiersandhalfwaverectifierload.
When cleaning the machine, please wipe it with a dry object. Under no circumstances shall water be used
tocleanelectricalparts inside oroutside the cabinet.
After completion of maintenance operations, check immediately to ensure that no tools or other items are
leftinthe cabinet.
In case of fire, please use dry powder extinguisher correctly for extinguishment. There is a danger of
electricshockifliquid fire extinguishers are used.
Do not close the breaker before the solar inverter installation is completed. Do not power on solar
inverter withoutthepermissionofa qualified electrician.

1.3 Battery Safety


Battery installation and maintenance shall only be performed by personnel with battery expertise.
There is danger of electric shock and short circuit current in the battery. In order to avoid safety accidents,
when installing or replacing the battery, please pay attention to the following matters: do not wear jewelryand
watches and other conductive objects; use special insulation tools; use facial protection; wear protective
insulatingclothing;do not turn the battery solar inverter upside down or tilt it;disconnect the input breaker of
the battery.
The installation environment of the battery must be far away from the hot area, and it is not allowed to use
orkeep the battery near the fire source. The battery or battery strings cannot be processed by fire, otherwise it

is possible cause personal injury due to explosion.
Environmental factors impact battery life. Elevated ambient temperatures, poor quality utility power, and
frequent short duration discharges will shorten battery life.
The batteries should be regularly replaced to ensure the normal operation of solar inverter and sufficient backup
time.
Do not use a battery that is not approved by the supplier, as it may adversely affect the operation of the
system. Use of supplier approved battery will void the manufacturer warranty.
Check the screws of the connecting parts of the battery regularly to make sure they are tight and not loose. If
the screws become loose parts, they must be tightened immediately.
Please do not short the positive and negative terminals of the battery, otherwise it is possible to cause electric
shock or fire.
Do not touch the wiring terminal of the battery. The battery circuit is not isolated from the input voltage
circuit, and there will be a high voltage hazard between the battery terminal and the ground.
Do not open or damage the battery, otherwise it is possible to cause short circuit and battery leakage and
theelectrolyte in the battery may cause damage to the skin and eyes. In case of exposure into the
electrolyte,wash immediately with plenty of water and go to the hospital for examination.

1. ProductOverview
2.1 WorkingPrinciple
2.1.1 SchematicDiagram
series solar inverter adopts 3mppt design based on DSP full digital control toprovide customers with high
efficiency and high power density power supply. Its functional block diagramisshown in Fig.

Mode 1: Power Saving Mode

PCU will utilize maximum solar power and allow customer to Reduce Grid electricity consumption.
PCU will operate in the following priority
A)
• Will feed Solar power to the load first. if Solar is not sufficiently then battery and solar power will feed
the load.
• This mode also provides facility to export power to Grid when solar Power is available and batteries are
fully charged and load is less.
• Export function Can be disabled/ enable.
• If both Grid & solar Power is not available batteries will feed the load until battery low cutoff condition.
• PCU will not use grid & solar power is not available batteries will feed the load until battery charging if
function is enable.
• Disabling the function it PCU use Grid Power to Charge batteries and feed to load in the non availability of
sufficient solar & Battery power.
It is also possible to disable Grid charging at certain time period to save demand penalty( Example 6am to
9am)

Mode2:Backup

PCU will utilize the Grid supply with highest priority.


• Load will be feed by the Grid Power and available Solar Power will charge the batteries
• If Grid charger is enabled otherwise only solar will charge the batteries.
• When grid power fails, solar power and battery power will feed the load.
• If both Grid & Solar Power is not available, Batteries will feed the load until battery low cutoff condition
observed.

Mode 3: Export
• PCU will export solar and battery power to Grid, if Grid is available
• If Grid is not available ,solar power will charge the batteries and feed the load. If solar Power is not
sufficient ,then both solar and battery power will feed the load.
• Batteries will not charge from Grid.
• If Grid is Failed and solar is absent then batteries will feed the load until battery low cutoff condition

2.3OptionalAccessories
Various optional accessories are provided for SPUseriessolar inverter, as shown in Table 2-1, to
meetdifferentconfiguration requirements ofusers.

Battery It is used to detect battery temperature, compensate the charging voltage


temperaturesensor accordingto the change the ambient temperature of the battery and prolong the
service life ofthebattery.

2. Installation
3.1 Installation Preparations
This chapter contains general information regarding the inverter positioning and
environmental requirements, together with detailed instructions for connecting the
battery rack and connecting the input & amp; output cables.
CONSIDERATIONS
After the inverter has been installed it must be commissioned in accordancewith the instruction by the trained engineer.
Failure to observe this condition will invalidate any implied warranty.
The location must be cool, dry and clean with adequate ventilation to keep theambient temperature below45°C. The
installation location must be kept clear of contaminants such as excessive moisture, inflammable or combustive vapours,
chemical fumes and corrosive gasses or liquids.
If needed install extractor fans in the room to aid air circulation. Use suitable air filtration system for locations where
the inverter is to operate in dusty environments
The inverter is forced cooled with the aid of internal cooling fans. Cooling airenters the inverter unit from the front and
is exhausted through the ventilation grills located at the back. Hence one must allow a minimum gap of 2000mm behind the
equipment to allow for adequate air flow.
The unit requires all sides access for the purpose of troubleshooting ormaintenance. Hence ensure that all sides of the
unit are easily accessible

3.2 INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR BI-DIRECTIONAL SPU REeFi (1phase / 3phase )

Starting Up Sequence:-

Switch OFF all the CB’s.


Connect the Grid input supply to the input terminal properly, as peridentification.
Connect battery +Ve & amp; -Ve wire to PCU terminals properly as peidentification.
Connect solar +Ve & amp; -Ve wire to PCU terminal properly as per identification.
Check all cable sizes as per rating & amp; proper connection. Check output wiring.
Keep rotary switch at Zero position.Check total battery voltage at DCDB battery terminal . If it is in range, then
switch ON the battery CB in DCDB.
Check Battery voltage at battery TB (INV). If ok (AS per polarity) then switch ON DC control MCB.
Check All parameter and window on graphical LCD.
Start battery MCB (if DC contactor available) of inverter and wait till DC contactor ON.
After DC contactor ON Check battery voltage on inverter LCD it should be match with actual voltage.
Start inverter press start key and check inverter op voltage actual and display.
Measure grid input supply, if it is in range (170V-260V),switch ON the mains CB.
Check the Array Voltage as per requirement & amp; Switch on the Array CB.
Keep rotary switch on UPS in bypass mode & amp; check output load current if it is
ok then connect the load step by step of system rating to the system output & amp;
check the Output current, Solar current.

If solar is not sufficient then load will be transferred to Mains & battery will
be charged through mains.
Bypass Operation:-
Keep the Rotary switch on Bypass mode.
Switch OFF Sequence:-
Switch OFF Load.
Switch OFF Mains CB.
Switch OFF Solar CB.
Switch-on stop button on PCU from front display.
Switch OFF Battery CB.
Discharge DC capacitor and OFF control MCB.
Note:-Do not switch ON/ OFF Battery Breaker when system is in operation.

3.3 SitePreparations

Installation weight and dimensions

Ensure the ground or installation platform can bear the weight of solar inverter, the battery and battery
rack. Theweight of the battery and the battery rack shall be calculated according to the actual use
condition. The installation weight and dimensions of solar Refer anexture 2.

Installation environment

3.3.1.1 Do not install solar inverterin high, low temperature or humid


environment that exceed the technical specifications Technical
Parameters for environmental specifications.
3.3.1.2 Keep solar inverteraway from water source, heat source and
inflammable and explosive materials. Avoid installing solar inverter in
the environment with direct sunlight, dust, volatile gas, corrosive
substances and excessive salt. It is strictly prohibited to install solar
inverter in the working environment with metal conductive dust.
3.3.1.3 If the solar inverteris installed in an airtight room without ventilation,
it needs to be equipped with an airconditioning system to ensure stable
ambient temperature. The cooling capacity of air conditioning
shouldbe greater than the sum of the heating sources in the room. The
maximum heating capacity of this solar inverteris 5%ofthe
ratedpowervalue.

Clearance
A certain amount of operation and ventilation space shall be reserved around the cabinet. Reserve at least
1000 mm space for ventilation and operation d in the front, at least 500 mm space for operation in the top,
and at least 1000 mm space for ventilation at the back. If it is required to operate at the SIDE, reserve at
least500mmspace. Take solar inverteras an example shown in Fig. 3-1.

3.4 InstallationTools
DANGER
To ensure safety, installation tools for live operation shall be insulated.
Installation tools which may be used in installation process are shown inTable 3-2 and used as needed.

3.5 Preparation of Power Cables

There commended cable sizes are shown in Table3-3 the requirements of cable terminals are shown in Table3-
4,and there commended configurations of input-output breakers are shown in annexture 1.

-The cables recommended in Table3-3 are only applicable to the following sconditions:
- Laying method: installedonthefloor(IEC60364-5-52)
- Ambienttemperature:0-30 ℃
- AC voltage loss is less than 3%, DC voltage loss is less than 1%. The DC and AC cables of in the table

The current value in the table refers to the data obtained at rated voltage 380V. The current value needs
tobe multiplied by0.95 fortherated voltage 400V, and0.92for415Vrated voltage.
Whenthemainloadisnon-linearload,then-linesectionneedstobeincreasedby1.5-1.7times.

TheACinput 1 and input 2 selector switch, The AC input breaker, the control input breaker, the output1 breaker,
output 2 breaker output change over position 1,2,3 are installed in this productas
Standard configuration.
As solar inverter is a large leakage current device, it is not recommended to install breakers with
leakage protection function.
When the input front end is provided with multiple loads, the specification of circuit breaker for the
front-level bus configuration must be greater than the specification of the mains input breaker and the
bypass input breaker of solar inverter.
When the input rear end is provided with multiple loads, the specification of circuit breaker for the
front-level bus configuration must be smaller than the specification of the input breaker of solar
inverter.

3.6 Unpacking

CAUTION
The equipmentmustbehandledbyspeciallytrained personnel.
Handle the equipment with care, and the device. Any impact or fall may cause
damagetothe equipment.

Procedures:

Step 1: make sure the solar inverter package is not damaged. In case of any damage during transportation,
pleaseinformthe carrier immediately.

Step3: Remove outerpacking and remove bufferfoam.

Step 4: Remove the moisture barrier bag.

Step 5: Set the pallet on firm, level surface allowing a minimum clearance of 10 foot on each side forremoving the
cabinet pallet.

Step 6: Remove the protective covering from the cabinet.

Step 7: Remove the packing material and discard or recycle in a responsible manner.

Step8:Checkthe integrityofthe equipment.


Inspect the appearance of SOLAR INVERTER, and check whether SOLAR INVERTER is
damaged during transportation. If yes,please notify the carrier immediately. Check whether the
attached accessories are complete andcorrect according to the packing list. If the accessories are
short or the model is not in accordancewith the requirements, timely make on-site records and
immediately contact the company or thelocaloffice.

Step 9: use the automatic lift forklift or other equipment to unload the machine, and move the equipment
to the installation position bay roller.

3.7 Installation of single solar Inverter
3.7.1 InstallBatteries
Please refer to the battery installation instructions shipped with the battery for methods.
After the battery is installed, check the voltage of a single battery, normal range: 10.5 V -13.5 V; Check
the voltage difference between single cell in a series battery string, generally no more than 5%. If not,
charge or replace the battery.
3.7.2 Connect Power Cables
Step 1: Open the door of unit
Step 2: Connect powercables.
3.7.2.1 The wiring position and path of the power cable at the bottom of the cabinet are shown in Fig. 3.

3.7.2.2 Connection of battery cable

CAUTION
Battery voltage can be fatal. Please observe safety instruction during connecting cables.
Select total number of batteries from 30 to 46 (even number), and the number of
positive and negative battery strings must be consistent.
Positive and negative battery strings must be equipped with a 3-channel battery breaker
with limited current protection.
During wiring, ensure that the polarity of the cable connecting the battery terminal to the
battery breaker and the battery breaker to the solar inverter terminal is correct.

The reference connection mode of the battery strings is shown in Fig. 3-11,

Connect the battery cable of the battery string to the +, N and - of the battery distribution terminal, as
shown in Fig. 4.

Dry contact interface


Through the dry contact interface of solar inverter, User-defined dry contactand corresponding functions
are shown in Table 3-7.

3.8 Installation of solar inverter System
3.8.2 Connect Power Cables
Wiring procedures:
As shown in the figure, respectively connect the mains power input, bypass input, output, battery and
solar wire of the solar inverter to be connected and then connect the mains power, the bypass, the battery,
solar and theloadrespectively.
Step 1: properly install the AC input cables and the battery cables,solar cables of solar inverter in the
system asshown in 5.
