ACTIVE & PASSIVE VOICE

Voice of Verbs in the Sentence

VOICE
Voice refers to the form a verb
takes to indicate whether its
subject is acting or being acted
upon in the sentence.
ACTIVE VOICE
A transitive (action) verb is in the active voice
if the subject performs the action and a direct
object follows the verb.
Examples:

passive voice remains in the same tense as
the verb in the active voice. This is indicated
by various forms of the helping verb be (am,
is, are, was, were, will be, shall be, has been,
etc.).

use “by” to introduce the doer of the
action.
