The book 'Announcing the Kingdom' emphasizes that Christian mission is fundamentally centered on Jesus Christ and the concept of the Kingdom of God, which extends beyond individual salvation to the church's interaction with the world. It argues for a holistic approach to mission that includes both evangelism and social action, asserting that God's people are called to be active participants in this mission. 1. In one sentence, what is the thesis of the book?

All Scriptures made it clear, contributed in a way for us to understand the

concept, principles of Christian mission.
2. Summarize the main points of this book.
-Mission will be a biblical mission only if it is centered to Jesus Christ.
-The idea of the Kingdom of God broadens beyond individualized and
vertical understanding of salvation to interaction of church and the world.
-Bible is a story of mission. God is a missionary God. Church is a missionary
community and Christians are missionary people.
-The concept of the kingdom of God broaden beyond individualized and
vertical understanding of salvation to interaction of Church and the world.
-A lesser kingdom missiology breaks the impasse between evangelism and
social action.
-Missiology of the kingdom of God creates the possibility of new
conversation among evangelicals, conciliar movements, RCC, orthodox, Pentecost
and charismatic.
-Kingdom of God missiology challenges all social, political, government
implication and structures.
-There is but one acid test that one should be applied to all activities that
claim to represent obedience to mission. Do they or do they not produce disciples
of Jesus Christ.
-God’s rule is universal and covenantal. God requires commitment.
Righteous God demands righteous disciples.
-God’s people are called to mission. Each one is tasked to proclaim the
kingdom of God both in words and deeds.
-Advancement of the kingdom of God holds back the advancement of Anti-
Christ.
-Faithful God’s people are God’s elected unconditionally. This reality
provokes tension between them and the world. This makes the people of God
humble themselves before God.
-As God’s missionaries, God’s people became recipient and therefore
required to be a channel of grace and blessings.
-In mission, God and God alone is the one who operates. He used his
servants in the old testaments but not necessarily needs those servants to
accomplish his tasked or his victory.
-Israel was to be a blessing to other nations but her encounter with other
nation involved conflict and conquest. This demonstrates only that nothing of
human achievements could bring world peace, order and justice.
-God’s people are considered as an exile to this world. As such, they are to
survive as people. They are to serve as captors and seek the peace of their
captors.
-God’s people is an instrument of renewal in the church. They possessed a
form of devotion but were devoid of any vital experience of God. Their ministry is
a pattern of faith intensification activity.
Missions seeks to win people and not to fight with them. It undertake
varieties of the universal religion. It is conscious of human being and the universal
existence of humankind. As missionaries, we need not preach to specific race,
ethnicity, culture or status. Missionaries preach to people regardless of what.

3. What is the insights of the author and how will you apply them to your life and
your ministry?
God’s mission is our mission. We, God’s people, are his instruments to
accomplish this mission. Mission like preaching the Word of God must be based
solely on the Bible and centered on Jesus Christ. God’s mission is not just pastors
mission, but a mission of the entire congregation. In this sense, pastors or leaders
should impart by word and deed the importance of mission to the congregation.
To accomplish God’s mission for the advancement of the kingdom of God,
preaching the gospel and good works are equally important for that purpose. One
should not be considered as superior or inferior over the other. Both are needed.
The disciple making mission of church was nothing less than God’s unique
instrument in liberating people from satanic bondage.
