Reading Passage: A Day at the Park

Read the passage carefully and answer the questions that follow.

Last Saturday, Mia and her dog Max went to the park early in the morning. Max ran
joyfully across the green field, chasing birds that flew just out of reach. Mia walked slowly
behind him, smiling as she watched her playful dog.

At the park, Mia decided to set up a picnic under the big oak tree near the pond. She
spread a blanket carefully and placed the food neatly on top. Max sat patiently beside
her, wagging his tail.

Suddenly, a squirrel dashed by, and Max barked loudly. The squirrel climbed up the tree
quickly, disappearing among the leaves. "Max, you’re being too noisy!" Mia said,
laughing. She gave him a treat and told him to lie down. The rest of the day passed
peacefully as they enjoyed the warm sun and cool breeze.
