Lesson Outline in Arts V

I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

a. identify complimentary colors in the color wheel;


b. appreciate the importance of colors in making an artwork and how it is used in everyday life; and
c. uses complementary colors in painting a landscape.

II. Subject Matter:

a. Topic: Complementary Color


b. Reference: K to 12 Art Curriculum Guide 2016
c. Materials: Tarp papel, PPT presentation, monitor, tv, pictures , and color wheel.

III. Procedure:

A. Preliminary Activities

1. Greetings and Opening Prayer


2. Checking of Attendance
3. Setting of Class Standards

B. Developmental Activities

1. Motivation (Picture Analysis)

The teacher will show a picture of color wheel to the class.

What did you observed from the picture?

What is your favorite color?

What are the primary colors?

2. Presentation

Based on the picture that you have seen earlier and the questions that you have answered, what is the
possible lesson that we are going to discuss for today?

Our lesson for today is about “Complementary Color”

(The teacher will let the students read the objectives)

3. Discussion

Do you have any idea of what is complementary color?

Complementary color - is any two opposite colors on the color wheel.


Example: yellow and purple, red and green

Who can give me another example?

The teacher will present images and artwork that use complementary colors. Then discuss further
about how colors can be used to create visually appealing and impactful artwork.

How will you appreciate the used of colors?

C. Concluding Activities

1. Application (Group Activity)

The students will be having a group activity. The teacher will divide them into 2 groups. They are
given 10 minutes to do their task. Rubric is provided to serve as guide in grading their activity. After doing the
activity one representative of each group will present their output.

Diamond group:

Direction: Use the complementary color in creating a flower garden landscape painting.

Sapphire Group: Use the complementary color in creating a farmsscape painting.
