Structure of the Earth project

The document outlines a project for students on the structure of the Earth, focusing on plate tectonics, rock cycles, and weathering and erosion. Students are required to create labeled models or diagrams representing various geological concepts and processes. The project includes criteria for assessment based on procedures, communication, analysis, and presentation.

Science Literacy Structure of the Earth Project

Task

During this unit, we have been studying plate tectonic movement (types of plate movements, plate boundaries, layers
of the Earth, volcanoes and earthquakes). Your task is to create or design:

 a model/diagram of the Earth’s structure (crust, mantle, inner core and outer core)
 models/diagrams of the four plate boundaries (convergent, divergent, collision and conservative)
 models/diagrams of the rock cycle (sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic)
 diagram showing weathering and erosion

You need to label each of the models and explain each process.
