Mission and Vision Statement

Mission

The College of Nursing is committed to excellence in nursing education, clinical practice.

people and beyond, and contribute to the nursing profession through professional, scholarly,
legal, and political activities.

The Baccalaureate Program prepares individuals to assume the role of professional nurses
who can practice in a variety of health care settings. The master's program prepares nurses
to assume leadership roles as advanced practice nurses, educators, and administrators. The
doctoral program prepares nursing scholars and researchers who can contribute to the
advancement of nursing knowledge and improvement of clinical practice.

The faculty is committed to promoting students' ethical development, critical thinking.

Vision

The College of Nursing is a flourishing center of nursing education, research. scholarship,


and service for practice. Our graduates will be clinicians, leaders, researchers, and scholars
who are highly competent, grounded in a sense of inquiry, and committed to human caring.
Students and faculty will collaborate in the discovery, integration, application, and
dissemination of knowledge in nursing. Clinical excellence will be enhanced through
collaboration and partnerships within the University and the community. The College of
Nursing will be a resource for knowledge that improves the quality of nursing practice and
health care in the nation, and the world. Philosophical and theoretical insights and research
findings will be disseminated to enhance nursing practice nationally and internationally. This
vision will be accomplished in an intellectually stimulating and supportive environment that is
respectful of diversity and that fosters individual and collective pursuits.

VISION

To create a sustainable health care resource for our community and improve the health and
well being of the people we serve. We act as an integral partner with the community in the
promotion of health, education, and access to care.

MISSION STATEMENT:

The Community Health Centers is dedicated to providing excellent, comprehensive primary


health care, prevention, and health education for people who are uninsured and
underinsured in Tumkur, regardless of ability to pay. Centre is committed to supporting the
education of family practice residents in the field of community medicine and serves the
community in a supportive and culturally appropriate environment.

PURPOSES

The mission statement guides the day-to-day operations and decision-making of the
organization. It helps in tactical planning and "rallying the troops" around a common near to
medium term goal. The mission statement helps members of the organization get on the
same page on what they should do and how they should do it.

The vision statement is, in a sense, loftier. It outlines the worldview of the organization and
why it exists. It attracts people not just employees but also customers and vendors who
believe in the vision of the organization.

What to Include in a vision Statement?

When developing a vision statement, it should be seen that the following questions are
answered:

What do we want to do going forward?

When do we want to do it?

How do we want to do it?

Features of an effective vision statement

Clarity and lack of ambiguity

Paint a vivid and clear picture, not ambiguous

Describing a bright future (hope)

Memorable and engaging expression

Realistic aspirations, achievable

Alignment with organizational values and culture

Time bound if it talks of achieving any goal or objective

MISSION

By advancing medical knowledge and continuously improving our practices

By educating current and future generations of healthcare professionals

What to Include in a Mission Statement?

When developing a mission statement, it should be seen that the following questions are
answered:

What do we do today?

For whom do we do it?


What is the benefit?

Features of an effective mission statement

Purpose and values of the organization

What business the organization wants to be in (products or services market) or who are the
organization's primary "clients" (stakeholders)

What are the responsibilities of the organization towards these "clients"

What are the main objectives that support the company in accomplishing its mission?

SUMMARY

Up till now we are discuss about puposes of vision, inclusion in vision statements, features
of an effective vision statement, mission and inclusion in a mission statements, features of
an effectives mission statements.

CONCLUSION

Development of a vision and mission of system for hospitals incorporating health care
standards is in itself a big step forward towards ensuring proper health. The statutory
provisions referred to in the standards for quality care have to be clarified and with relation to
different categories of health care units. Services catered under the universal health
programmer should also come under accreditation system with proper standardization
criteria.
